Your cart is empty. The idler arm and pitman arm are two of the most commonly worn steering components. Poorly designed wearable joints from the factory quickly loosen and cause excessive play in the steering. Proforged Idler Arms and Pitman Arms are built to strict tolerances using the latest innovations in steering technology, ensuring crisp, predictable handling.

This pitman arm will not properly and completely fit onto the original equipment steering gear sector shaft, even though the Amazon compatibility chart shows that it fits a Oldsmobile 1970 Cutlass Supreme. The sector shaft diameter on this pitman arm is about 1/8-inch too small to seat onto the original steering gear sector shaft. (See pics.) The locking washer and nut cannot be tightened completely to where the original pitman arm would seat onto the original sector shaft, leaving the pitman arm to sit lower on the steering gear and causing the center link to be not level, which results in the geometry of the entire front steering linkages being incorrect.I am in the middle of a restoration, and bought this a couple months ago. Now that I've tried to install it, it's too late to return it. Big waste of time and money relying on the incorrect description.
