Instructions:
Connection:Blue wire--ground(-).Brown wire--Instrument signal wire
Connect ground (blue) wire from marine fuel sending unit to a common grounding hook-up.Blue wire connect to negative pole of power supply.
Connect signal (brown) wire from fuel level sending unit to gauge hook-up.If your gauge has color coded hook-ups,maintain this coding as you connect the
sender and ground wires.

Non continuous resistence change over the length. Probably implemented with reed switches and resistors. Waterproof. The metallic body is insulated from the resistors and terminals. The rubber washer is adequate.

Bought this for replacing my faulted fuel sender in the boat.Amazon description said this sender was supposed to be 316 Stainless. The body is stamped "304" as in 304 stainless. Amazon description said this sender was supposed to have the resistance of 33 ohms to 220 ohms. Product measures 20 ohms to 150 ohms. Looking up those values, this sender is for a Ford vehicle (1989 and newer), not for marine use.I'd give this a 0 star rating if given the chance. Will be sending back, and expect a full refund.

So according to their website, a 6 inch plastic tank like mine should use a 5 inch sensor as it requires to be raised 1 inch from the bottom of the tank. But the float is about 1 inch thick and there is a neck around the top part preventing the float from going all the way up. So in a 6 inch tank, I end up with a 5 inch sensor, but the float only has 3 inch of travel.So the sensor won't mobe from empty until the tank is 1/4 full. And the sensor will show full tank when it's only 75% full.
