TL/DR: The OEM e-brake cables stretch. Replace them with these! The first indication that these have stretched out is when you pull the e-brake handle and no matter how you adjust the cable tension your Mustang will NOT stop or hold a hill using the e-brake. Naturally, the cabling is probably something you wouldn't normally think of, just the adjustments at the calipers or e-brake handle. This kit comes with two cables, the driver and passenger sides. They are not interchangeable; so be sure you have the correct part numbers. The easiest way to tell is that the passenger side has two retaining bolt plates and is longer, and the driver's side has thermal foil protection (that's new, my OEM 2005 ones didn't).Installation will require you to remove both rear wheels. Raise the car (or the rear axle) safely, and to a height that allows you to work in the driveshaft tunnel just behind the Y-pipe. Be sure the e-brake is not engaged. You'll need an 8mm ratchet, a couple of screwdrivers (or long compression pliers) and a short pry bar. YMMV on this one, but I also needed an 18mm socket, 1/2" breaker bar, and a torque wrench as well.Start by removing the retainer clips at the brake calipers and pulling the e-brake cables out of their retaining slots. That will give you clearance to remove the cable "hammer" end from the e-brake assembly. Remove the 8mm bolt from the retainer by the rear lower control arm. For the passenger side, the second 8mm bolt is located in the center of the driveshaft tunnel, you'll have limited access but a 3/8" ratchet and 8mm socket will do the trick if you are patient. Now you can pull the cables down from their routing path to give you more flexibility at the cable junction. (make sure exhaust pipes are cold!!!) Compress the plastic fittings at the junction to remove them (or just break them, it's easier) and then release the "hammers" from the junction (PICTURE ATTACHED).Here's where I encountered difficulty - the cables, by design, are routed through the rear lower control arms (LCA). I could NOT get the cables out due to the size of the plastic retainers. I ended up loosening the 18mm retaining bolt and removing the flag nut from the LCA bolt to get enough clearance to route the cables through. (PICTURE ATTACHED) If you do this, be sure your rear axle is supported! Do one side at a time or your differential will "walk" and will require alignment. Once flag nut is out remove old cable, and route new one in. Put the LCA bolt and flag nut back in before moving to the next side. Torque is 130 ft/lbs.Attach the junction "hammers" first, and then at the calipers. Use the pry bar to give clearance at the caliper to engage the "hammer" at each side. These new cables are a perfect fit! As you can see from the photo, my 2005 cables were trashed. My e-brake now works perfectly - it holds the car on an incline, and can stop the car if need be. I recommend these cables!

Easy installation as long as you can get the car high enough. They are Ford parts so they were a perfect fit. Bought an off brand from a local parts retailer and didn't like the quality (the lack thereof). Paid a little more and ordered these. Glad I did.
