It's magnetic attachment and it dims the light. If you want the light to stay the same brightness leave the side magnets dettached.

Decent product. I bought these for a small office space to improve the harsh bright light. Everyone who walks in loves them. They have magnets on the sides so it easily attached to the light without having to move the ceiling tiles. My only issue is that they droop in the center and I wasn’t expecting that, I thought they would lay flat against the ceiling (dang gravity). Otherwise decent product.

I have many different fluorescent light coverings at work. The light is just simply too bright.I first started with the blue covers and those are nice, but everything then has a tint of blue. Still beats the harsh bright white light.These are about 1" too short in all directions. It's annoying that they are this short because it barely grabs onto the light fixture frame. Couple that with VERY small magnets and it is annoying because it barely sticks onto the light fixture. The pattern is very nice but the quality control of this cover should be better.Pros:Very cool looking print.Cons:It needs to be the correct size for a standard overhead light fixture. They list measurements yet the covers are smaller than the description...smh.The magnets are super tiny. They really need to be bigger to stick onto the lighting fixture.

Bought these for my office, they had bright beaming lights and these knocked down the brightness and dimmed it just enough that I have enough light to see to do my work and they are pretty to look up at.
