This cord is incredibly heavy-duty! It’s perfect for plugging in our generator, and the durability makes it feel like it will hold up even in the harshest weather conditions.Installation wasn’t as easy as I expected. I ended up hiring an electrician to install the outlet box and ensure everything was set up correctly. However, the cord length is just right for my needs, and I feel confident that it’s both safe and secure.

This is a beast of a cord. I can’t confirm the size of the wires inside of the outer jacket as there is no information printed on the jacket It does feel like a very heavy duty high-quality cord. This is a kit that comes with the electrical box that you need for plugging this cord into your house. I do recommend having the electrical box installed by a qualified electrician as this is something that you do not want to get wrong. Also a plastic handle is included. After you coil the cord, you wrap the plastic strap around it, which keeps the cord coiled up and gives you a handle to carry it by. Also included is a canvas storage bag that you can put the cord and the handle in and store it where you may. This is a kit that includes everything you need to go from your generator to your house. Mine works great, and I highly recommend it for others.

I got this HIKZEST 50Amp Generator Cord & Power Inlet Box to connect a portable natural gas generator to the building and battery backup bank in a grid power outage situation. All the components are excellent quality. The cord end going into the power inlet box has a positive lock to prevent it pulling out of the socket. The cord is thick and heavy with molded strain reliefs where the cable enters the plug ends. Outer covering on the cord is thick and rated for UV resistance. Both the cord and the box are ETL listed and the cord is rated to -40 F to remain flexible in cold weather. An excellent feature when trying to unroll and connect the cord in cold winter when there is a power outage.The power inlet box has a seal where the cord enters the box helping to maintain a good connection and resist rain. The power inlet box is not sealed completely so it cannot be immersed in water (like in a flood situation). It is rain and humidity resistant. There is no water resistance rating for the extension cord or power box. Powder coated paint on the box is nicely uniform and thick. It should be very rust resistant and durable.In conclusion, I think this HIKZEST 50Amp Generator Cord and Power Inlet Box are heavy duty and excellent quality. I recommend them.

This is a very heavy duty extension cord package designed to run power from a 125/250 watt, 50 amp gasoline generator plug to an inlet box (included) to be mounted outdoors, and from there to a transfer switch. It is not just a regular generator extension cord. It is of high quality and should be set up by someone with the knowledge of a qualified electrician, in my opinion. I got it to power my water system during an outage but it's capable of other appropriate applications.

I'm using this NEMA 14-50P to SS2-50R 125/250V generator cord to connect my generator to a detatched generator platform for our RV. The cord is well insulated, outlet prongs fit snugly. Its a little stuff in colder weather, so you may want to unravel it while inside a warm garage or house. It suits my needs, but if your inlet box is on your house you will want a 25 or 30 foot cord for carbon emissions. The terminals seems properly made with no cracking. Should hold up to the weather fine.
