This is a design-conscious shade for office or patio (although it's not made as an "outdoor" item; I would bring it inside when you aren't using it). It was not difficult to put together. The flexible rods are segments joined by an elastic cord, which makes them a little fiddly, but they provide enough stiffness to give the leaf shape. That shape is mostly flat, without the graceful curve suggested by the product images. The leaf is a generous size, and you can adjust the height (which can give your space more or less privacy as you prefer).Two things keep this from being a five-star product. One, you can't really adjust the shade other than height. Being able to rotate or shape the leaf would improve its usefulness as a shade, both from a light-blocking and privacy perspective.Two, and more seriously, the fabric the used is very poor quality. What held up to the light, there are pinprick holes and what appears to be the start of a run. The fabric is under some tension when the poles are in place, which makes me concerned about the durability of this. This is a particularly frustrating fault, as the quality of the webbing and the sewing look like good quality otherwise!Would I recommend this? Maybe. If you just want a cool desk accessory, or need to block overhead lights, or make your workspace feel more sheltered—then yes, with the caveat that the cheap fabric is thin and does let some light through (don't expect blackout-level shade). If you have to deal with shifting light, or need to block a specific view/angle, then this probably won't help with that.

This was really easy to assemble, but it took a moment for me to figure out where the horizontal poles were supposed to be inserted. at first it looks like the channels are fully stitched shut, but they're not, there's an opening for each one near the edge where the perimiter channel is, you just kind of have to feel around for it. The black thread on black material makes it hard to tell where the stitching ends.At first, I thought the $40 price tag was a little high but now that I have it put together and set up, I am loving it and finding it completely worth it. It's easy to adjust and does what it says: shades my desk from the harsh overhead lighting. I suffer from frequent migraines and this has provided instant relief for some of the eye strain that contributes to them.My only two complaints are that I wish I could make the leaf curve a little more and that it were green instead of black. The product photo make it look like it has a sort of convex shape like a natural leaf, but in reality it's pretty flat. My second complaint is I wish it were green. A small complaint, really, but it looks like a leaf so my brain just wants it to be green haha

I assembled this today for my desk and it is pretty nice. I like the structure of it all (although it does add a fair amount of weight). The shade does have some thinner spots/small holes, but they are not very noticeable and do not seem to affect the functionality. It took me about 5 minutes to assemble, and it feels pretty durable (with the exception of the thin shots in the shade body). Attention to detail is required as some of the poles are very similar in length but are distinctly different. The instructions were good though and I am happy overall. I would certainly recommend this!

My home office doubles as my mom’s craft room, so we’ve got a daily battle of clicking keyboards vs. craft chaos. This adjustable cubicle shade is my last line of defense against the blazing overhead lights that somehow make the room feel like a sci-fi interrogation scene.It goes together like a kite or a tent, and while it feels flimsy, it’s surprisingly sturdy once assembled. Functionally, it’s great—but visually? It looks like a giant leaf. I mean, cool if I was trying to camouflage in a forest, but I wish it came in a nice dark green instead of its current color.Still, it’s protecting my eyes and my sanity, so I’ll take it. Now, if only it could shield me from all the glitter explosions happening behind me…

I really love this giant office leaf however I do wish that it had more adjustability. The leaf comes disassembled in a black carrying pouch and was very easy/fun to put together. I like that I was able to carry the entire thing into my office via my backpack without making such a statement however when assembled this thing is huge and will get people's attention. Luckily my team is very lax about decorating our space so definitely check in with your coworkers before putting something this big up in your space.Although the leaf is all black, it is sheer enough to let a little bit of light through. My leaf did come with a few smaller sized holes near the middle so time will tell how long it will hold up. The mount is able to adjust up and down using a tensioned pole and is mounted to the edge of your desk similarly to a monitor mount. My one gripe with the mount was that the angle of the leaf is predetermined so you arent able to shift it to block out the sunlight. For my situation I have a large window behind my desk creating a giant glare on my monitors however this leaf is tilted in a way that it doesn't actually block out any of the light from the window and I cannot adjust it. Being that it is so flat to the mounting surface it is only really able to block overhead light so for my situation it is kind of a fail.I do really love how the leaf looks over my desk and am planning on keeping it setup for a while. It makes my cubicle feel a lot more cozy and closed in which I like. I think that $40 (at time of review) is a little too expensive for something like this and I do think that a perfect price would be between $20- $35.

I can't stand bright lights but I can't adjust the switch. Even with my own office all the floor lights come on together! This helps so I am not seeing a bright light over my desk, I can see my screen better and I can adjust it just right for me :) it was very easy to put on my adjustable desk and seems sturdy
