Accelerator cables connect the foot pedal to either the carburetor or EFI assembly. Old cables can bind, break, or just become sluggish. The best repair is to replace the old cable with a new one. ATP accelerator cables are designed to fit and function just like the original part to ensure durability and long life.

Poor manufacturer quality control. Plastic retainers/lock for gas pedal end does not fit. Location of cable retainer to engine bracket approximately 1/2" to 3/8" too short after attaching to throttle linkage causing throttle plate to open (high idle!). Because of time constraint, I decided to reuse existng cable assembly after some minor repairs. I removed the worn brittle damaged shroud on cable end (TB side), then cleaned and lubricated existing factory cable assembly. Should have done this in the first place. Work like a champ. ATP Y-615 Accelerator cable is useless, waste of money and time for '90 4.3 S-10 Blazer. Advice to prospective buyers, don't be cheap. Go to the GM dealer with your VIN for proper fitup accelerator cable. I think ATP manufacturers are confused between SAE and Metric dimensions.
