Effectively a snatch block reduces the line tension by 1/2 for a given load when pulling through the pulley (snatch block) and back to the cable puller, with the pulley anchored to the object being pulled. However, it can also be used to redirect the force of the pull away from the cable puller by anchoring the snatch block to a solid object out of the direct path between the cable puller and the object being pulled, and running the line through the snatch block then connecting to the object being pulled.Anyway. This is a good one. I'm very happy with it.

Thisis a heavy duty pulley also called a "sheave" which is much more user friendly in that it opens for rope or cable installation or removal. If you have ever used multiple pulley arrangements on the same line you will quickly realize how important this is.
