The box this came in was almost as well made as the spyglass itself. The view (albeit not highly magnified) is clear and crisp, and the detailing on the spyglass is rather nice itself.I'm not trying to spot ships at the horizon, but was hoping it had a BIT more magnification. Oh well.Still, looking forward to at some point at the next Ren Fair for someone to say, "Hey, have you guys seen Bob since he walked off?" Out will come my spyglass so I can look for him. :)

Very well made telescope toy... It feels wrong to call it a toy only because that was the intent if this purchase.Bought it as a gift for the kiddo but it is indistinguishable from my collection of marine gear.Keeps the little guy happy and my collection safe again!

For some reason I thought this was much larger but it is nicely finished . antique look wooden box with brass anchor on lid and wrapped telescope . The telescope slides in and out to focus . You can see the size of the box in the photos I took for you with a tape measure next to them. This does have an antique look and for what it is it is very well-made and the telescope actually works.
