Originally I would have given this litter scooper 5 stars. The only thing I did not like about it was the short handle, so you had to bend way over to use it. Other than that, it was the perfect scooper. It seemed to be heavy duty with a nice solid handle. It scooped big chunks of litter well, but what set it apart from other litter scoopers were the smaller mesh holes at the front of the scooper that allowed you to scoop smaller chunks from the litter box. The litter has never looked so clean. Unfortunately, I received the scooper on 4/28 and on 8/19 it broke without warning. One second I was scooping litter, and the next thing I know the scooper part was laying in the litter box and the handle was still in my hand. It broke in such a way that it is not fixable. The litter scoopers I have had in the past lasted me years, and I had 3 cats. This litter scooper is only used once a day for 1 cat that is 9 lbs. It should have lasted WAY longer than just 4 months. Unfortunately, as much as I liked the litter scooper, I cannot recommend it. I gave it 2 stars because it did work well, but I would not buy it again because it is not made very well if it breaks after only using it for 4 months. It is not worth spending money on since it can't be used long-term.

I got tired of the plastic scooper having too wide gaps. My cat pees in the same spot a bunch of times, and it saturates the litter. The gaps in this one are about 3-5 mm in size which holds all that saturated litter nicely.I got frustrated initially with using it because I was used to scooping horizontally and sifting as I went. Don't do that with this scooper. I realized that holding the scooper vertically and scooping toward me keeps the smaller pieces at the bottom and the larger pieces at the top. It saves much more time to do it this way.I was about ready to toss it, but it was a well-built scooper and I thought I could use it at some point. Now it's my daily scooper.

There were lots of reviews about the welds breaking. The first thing I did was examine and push and pull on the welds. They are all good for now.The litter really flows through the scoop! It makes scooping 6 litter boxes (we foster) go a lot faster. We had been using a large aluminum scoop which works great, because of the size, but over the years the foam on the handle wore out. I replaced it but got this one to supplement the big one.SIZE: After using our big one, this handle is REALY SMALL. It would be great for a female with small hands, but for me it's dainty. I may try to glue a PVC pipe or a tube of some kind over it.

I absolutely love this scoop was able to get both the large and the small pieces from the cat litter. It did a better job keeping the litter clean overtime than any other scoop that I’ve used. I’m giving it only four stars because it only lasted a month or so before one of the welds broke And I had to throw it away.

It seems so simple, but it has been hard to find a good scoop! I really like that it has small holes as well as large to catch the small clumps, but it doesn't take forever to make a pass through the litter. It also feels really solid and I think it will last a long time. Plastic scoops break on me, so I went metal this time.

Finally a litter scoop that can sift out small clumps. I have been looking for years for a fine sifter that doesn't retain a lot of litter. Our 17 year old abby's failing kidneys produces an enormous amount of urine. This usually results in large clumps. But when the cat pees on the side of the litter box, getting those clumps off usually results in a lot of smaller clumps. This wire scoop handles both large and small clumps extremely well compared to all the plastic models I've tried. It's worth the extra bucks. You'll save on your litter remaining cleaner, longer.
