I'm a beginner in my late 30s. Somebody told me I was too old when I was in my late 20s to play so I never tried. Until now. I just wanted to see for myself and I'm glad I did. And I'm glad this little violin was is along for the journey. I can't tell the difference between this and a Stradivarius as far as the sound. But I can tell you the first time I played twinkle twinkle little star on this violin made me cry. It's the best purchase I've ever made. This violin was easy to learn and is very forgiving. I did break an E string so you may wanna grab some extras. You get so much with this set. I think it's perfect for a beginner. It's perfect for me. And I'm enjoying learning with it.Everything this violin comes with is fairly decent. The rosin works though I bought extras just in case I break this and different types to experiment with, I'm not afraid to make marks and put notes where my first, second, third, and fourth fingers should go since this is an "inexpensive" (relatively speaking) violin. It's easy to upgrade things on this violin. I added a shoulder pad and replaced the chin rest with a center chin rest. I upgraded the bow, though the one it came with also works and I still use that one as well. The case it comes with is so useful and holds a lot.Its style is quirky and somewhat contemporary. And I love that the body is black sparkle paint. This violin was made for me. And it's made for you too. Don't let anybody tell you that you're too old to play. Life is too short for what-ifs.

First the of all I was very excited to received my first violin for my birthday. Arrived on my birthday I was very happy. All the pieces was there with the violin so my first task was to get the violin tuned and start playing. Well I had a real hard time of tuning the violin and thought I was doing something wrong but I checked everything that I needed to do to get this fixed so I can start playing well it took me hours but could not get the violin tuned. I contact the seller and suggested a fix but I told them I did that already and the violin is faulty. They advised to return and they will send me a replacement. Upon receiving the replacement what a major difference I checked the tuning and it came all tuned. I started to play wow what a difference it made when you have a instrument that is in tuned. Thank you for the seller for giving me a violin that I can play!!!

It's a good instrument. Now, it's no $500 electric violin, but it's extremely good for the price. I'm very satisfied with it, though you may want to use different headphones since the ones that come with it are pretty cheap.

Although it looked beautiful, the violin did not sound right. Some of the notes had a very harsh sound when amped.KK Music responded immediately to my email by mailing another built-in amp to see if that was the issue. However when the new amp was received and replaced, the same harsh sounds continued when the instrument was plugged in and played.Once again KK Music responded immediately to my email by sending a prepaid return shipping label.KK Music is now in the process of giving game a full refund.

Complete beginner here. I have always wanted to learn the violin, and I have to start saying that this video review inspired me to purchase the Cecilio violin...very informative review by a professional, I strongly suggest watching it.(...)Right out of the box, it came with strings, a bow, rosin, headphones, and a cable for an amp. Several reviews I've read say that the quality of the instrument is surprisingly good with the exception of the strings, and I must agree with this. So with that in mind, I took mine to my friend at the music store who put on fresh strings and tuned it up for me. With the exception of putting on new strings, the instrument was ready to play right out of the box, it must only be tuned/bow rosined. While off/not plugged in, it's very quiet and it sounds somewhat dull. But like any electric instrument, once I put my headphones in and turned the violin on, it gave me a strong and full sound that sounds pretty true to that of an acoustic violin. There is a volume knob on the underside as well as a "tone" knob which creates a softer/smoother sound or a sharper/crisp sound depending on taste. There is a headphones and line-out jack to plug in for practice or performance, and all the instrument needs is a 9V battery (included!). My roommate in the next room over says he could barely hear me play, but through my headphones I had a full clear sound so I can hear myself. This is a huge perk for me because I also play the saxophone, and often my roommates/neighbors would hear me practicing.Though I am not a professional, this violin seems to be in great condition and is a very cool looking, cost effective beginner/intermediate option for those willing to learn. I highly recommend it!

We wanted to start fully utilizing the violin and found the electronics in it were defective. We can't use an amp. Unfortunately we didn't realize this until after the Amazon return date was past. This is still within the manufacturer warranty but they have been unresponsive to my contact through their website. I will update this post with my progress.

I know nothing about violins, absolute beginner. This one seems to be great though, plus I watched reviews by some pros on Youtube and read reviews elsewhere online. My only issue is the first one I received had a broken peg. Amazons return/exchange policy is great though and two days later I had another one. This NEW one had a broken bridge, however, I still had the first one and just swapped them out. The instrument itself is great, just remember to wear the headphones when you practice, while you do get sound without them, it sounds a whole lot different, and proper, with the headphones.
