UPDATE: I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THE LITTLE PINCHES OUT OF THE TOP (WHICH IS THE BASE OF THE CANDLE) DISTORTS THE CANDLE. I CANNOT USE THIS, TOO LATE TO RETURN. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I WILL RE-MELT THE WAX AND MAKE THE CANDLES AGAIN WITH ANOTHER MOLD. SO DISAPPOINTING, AND FOR ME WAS A WASTE OF MONEY.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Love the goddesses...I was able to unmold pretty well. I learned to coat the inside of the mold with a little cooking oil - spread it around with my fingers, but don't leave any oil standing in the bottom (goddess heads). I tried Pam spray first but it made rhe finished candle look a little foamy.My only issue is that the mold itself is uneven with "pinches" out if the top (base of candle) so I have to level it and lose the podium part. And I'm not sure how to get the white dust-mold looking color off of the finished candle.

I used a mold release spray from Hobby Lobby to make the candles come out easier. However, I have tried five times to get the details of the faces to be complete (noses).

As previously mentioned, there is no hole for a wick - make that yourself. Not hard, but it does suggest that this is not originally intended for candle making.My BIGGEST complaint is that it is impossible to demold without losing parts of the pour, whether it is wax or plaster. In the process of demolding, the tiny details (like the crescent moon on the forehead) will break off every single time. It is also extremely hard to get any bubbles out, so facial features can get distorted. I guess if you have a shake plate, or a vacuum for removing all air, it might work, but for me it's frustrating.I do love the image, and some of the better (although never absolutely complete) pours have made beautiful statues and candles, even with the defects.

This is a cute mold. Despite its small size, I have encountered several remarks about using the mold as it is shipped, which I felt compelled to comment on.1. Silicone molds that are shipped sometimes lack wick holes or side slits.2. Create a wick hole with point-sharp scissors or an awl.3. You can create side slits, one on each side for release. After which you will utilize rubber bands to keep the mold together when using it again.There is nothing wrong with the mold. The manufacturer could do with providing some instructions tho...Have a great one!!!
