First of all this fit into my 65 Falcon wagon gas tank okay. The lock ring that holds it into the tank was way too thick and would not fit, so be prepared to reuse your old ring or order a different new one. I picked up a Dorman 579-003 from a local parts store and it fit perfectly. Also, check the filter on the end of the fuel pick up tube. This one was pushed so far onto the tube it blocked the tube and no fuel could come out of the tank. I didn't check this before installing into the tank so I had to remove it and slide the filter out about 3/8 of an inch, then it worked fine. So, biggest problem was the not correct lock ring.
