It's as dark as you would think. It's definitely not red. More like a maroon or burgundy. Perfect. Meets expectations. Haven't installed just speaking on the color. Some reviews may lead you to think it's not going to be dark. It is.

This was exactly what I needed. We didn't use it on a pool table but to line a pocket in a table. It has consistent texture, thickness and color.
