I took a chance and ignored the reviews saying the bigger bushings don't fit a 2ND gen 4runner. The 27mm was right but otherwise the part is way to o big to fit the bracket. Sent back.

Correct size for 1st gen (98-04) 4x4 Tacoma with TRD Off-road package. Grease is included and installation is easy. They seem to be holding up great so far. Buy the 26mm if you have 4x4 NO TRD package.

What I like about energy suspension products is that they come in either red or black. I like to use the red ones on all my vehicles so that I can tell what ones I've replaced and what are still original. These polyurethane bushings are more durable than the original rubber as well as a little harder. This can result in more road feel which I like is a personal preference.

Easy fit great and were really easy and fun to install. The OEM bracket did fit into these unlike the fronts and i did not need to buy new bolts etc.Oher than that it comes with the grease and everything and you're supposed to grease all parts where bushing touches metal which is the inside and the outside just make sure to wear gloves because it's a pain to wash off this is a different kind of almost like a polymer type of grease not that stuff you're used to.The swar bar end link bushings fit great and didn't explode, like the rubber ones i got, during install.Another thing is you're supposed to compress these in a vice or something and if you don't have one harbor freight has displays i guess 🤷‍♂️.Plus it looks really cool which is ultimately why I got it over the black polyurethane bushings I just wish it came in that neon / lime green color.

I have read multiple reviews and Energy Suspension's website and instructions. First of all, this was an inexpensive and easy upgrade and a significant increase in handling. The vehicle gets pushed around much less by ruts in the lane, deep snow/slush, potholes, and corners flatter. These would earn 5 stars if it weren't for the vague instructions. They should be clearer that not all parts in this kit will be used on all vehicles. I am sure they tried to make it generic enough to fit multiple products and maybe some of them are not Toyotas. A note in the instruction sheet and maybe some labels would suffice, although a full page (instead of half) with clearer diagrams and maybe a range of model years would earn them some better reviews! So I am posting this review so that other people with my same configuration will know what fits. The 2003 (and 04 and maybe some earlier) Tacoma 4x4 have a different style sway bar that IS 27mm and the D bushings fit it, but the end links don't take solid bushings, so the 4 small ones and washers are not used. These models have an end link with rubber boots on top and bottom. You can buy grease-able versions of these end links, but each side will cost you more than this kit and that will not improve the handling as much, if at all.Install: The D-bushings are installed easily by unbolting the strap that holds your old D-bushings (bolts are above frame and come down to nuts welded in the strap). Both sets have a split in them that allows you to slip them off/on the bar. Smear the special grease inside the new bushings and put them on the bar in the same spot with the flat side toward the frame, then start both bolts through the strap. Make sure the ridges on the D's are outside the strap on both sides and the D's are fairly snug on the bar. Alternate tightening each bolt while holding the split in the bushing mostly shut (the pressure will eventually close it). When it got close I ended up torquing the front bolt first, then the back, to maintain the shape of the bushing. That's all and you are done!Side Note: If you REALLY want to use the little bushings, you can do two suspension upgrades at once. Two of them can be used to replace the top bushings on your front struts (or new struts). This is a much more difficult job as you will have to remove your strut, compress it, and then disassemble/reassemble it. They will be tight on the rod and have to be drilled out slightly or threaded on. This is a good alternative for those that buy Bilstein 5100 struts (which don't come with any bushings, and tell you to re-use) if you don't want to re-use the cracked old top bushing. Don't use them for the lower top bushing as that is a bump stop and the rubber one will be less harsh. I ended up sticking with new rubber bushings, which are impossible to find, but kept more pre-load on the springs (and are harder to assemble).

I'm leaving a 5 star review because they are, in fact, great bushings. But, take heed if your quest for 27mm bushings for a first gen tundra has led you here, because these are not what you want.I purchased these based off another review saying they fit on a 2006 tundra with the elusive 27mm sway bar ( everyone seems to think they came with a 24mm). They did not fit. They would probably fit if they were about a half inch wider in the center section where the bracket sits.I ended up ordering energy 9.5111 and used the brackets it came with in place of the factory ones. Satisfied with the upgrade. Also if you have a lifted / leveled tundra get the 9.5111 and suspensionMAXX extended sway bar links to get the sway bar geometry back to spec and tighten up your handing.2006 tundra dc 4x4 sr5 production date 08/2006
