Looked all over for a locking push button style latch for my old CJ5. Kept coming up with nothing, likely because the OEM hole in the glove box for the push button is slightly under the now standard 1 in diameter.Screwed up my courage with a step bit on the drill and ever so slightly enlarged the hole in the door. Figured I was going to have to get creative to make the latch hook on something, but as soon as I closed it for a test fit it latched in the existing notch in the top metal flange. Like it was made for it and didn't need the included catch. It appears to be a metal button with plastic casing but it is sturdy enough as a light theft deterrent, if someone wanted to get in with a screwdriver they could likely easily pop the door by breaking this plastic latch.The included oversized plastic nut snug down nicely against the metal lock washer ring that was also included, it is quite sturdy.Still pleased as this is all I had intended for security of that glove box.

Does not take to hard use, slamming door shut to latch or pressure on door. Broke within a month of use. Latch fell apart and found spring inside compartment.

I'm sometimes amazed and what you can buy online these days. The fact that this fit the glove box on my 1996 Regal 176 was impressive. After 25 years, the old one locked up. This fit perfectly and was simple to install.
