had to disassemble my 2005 4runner to figure out this thing wasnt gonna work, old bulb wont fit in, new socket wont fit in

The bulb socket that came with it only has 2 pins for the electrical connection. The Toyota has a three pin connection. I bought the correct light socket at another store but the correct socket will not fit in the ordered lens. It’s to big to fit into the back of the lens.
