Overall, a well made adapter. Infinity focus works just fine, and it's one of the few (if not the only) adapters that will allow you to mount old Leica glass that has an infinity locking tab that rides close to the camera (i.e. the Elmar 50/3.5). The only problem is that the quality control on the threading is questionable. I've had two of these so far. With one, the lens mounted upside down. With the replacement, it mounted about 85 degrees off. I contacted the Fotodiox tech support, and was essentially brushed off: "If you are looking for an adapter that will give you the proper orientation this is the adapter we would recommend it has 3 Allen Key screws that you can loosen and turn the lens to the proper orientation."If you get one that's had the threading lined up correctly, this is an awesome adapter. If you have the sort of luck that I do, you'll get one that works, but it screws up the ergonomics of using the lens. Sadly, for some lenses, this is the only game in town.

Works great with my a7ii and an m39 mount jupiter lens. The focus setting on the lens falls at 3 o'clock after mounted with the adapter, slight annoyance but otherwise very good.

Davvero un ottimo adattatore, molto preciso, di buona fattura, solido e consigliabile per impiegare le ottiche M sulla Sony A7

Inutilizzabile per me.

Now it works..My Jupiter-8 50mm / f2.0 is nice and very small soviet vintage lens andwas only in "macro mode" using on Sony a6000 with another adapter. Now with this adapter lens has "infinity" (not 100 percent) but at least i can focus on distant objects just like normal lens. Finally a6000 + This adapter + Jupiter-8 put together = very compact good looking and light photography kit.

How did this ever get out of Fotodiox? it's as if they had an idea and a drawing, then never put it on a Leica. Perhaps it'll work with some other screw mount M39 lenses, though I don't see how, as the issue with my Elmar is that it places the focus knob at 10 o'clock when seen from the viewfinder. Junk. And once you reconcile yourself to that, you learn that it doesn't allow focus to infinity. This thing is useless.

Mounts well too camera body, but final orientation of lens is around 180 degrees off. Single piece casting so no way to adjust. It makes it a pain to read aperture settings.

some M39 doesn't fit the screw size. Is a bit annoying... Maybe they are L39 which could be a different threat? not sure about it...

For $33 incl shipping (to Canada) I considered it a deal. Used a Fotodiox Pro for Pentax PK lenses on NEX, and was quite happy, except that it focuses past infinity by a bit.The thread issue that someone described doesn't exist for me, the Voigtlaender Color Skopar 35 mm f2.5 Classic mounted no problem, but: it did wind up with its focus/aperture dot at about 10 o'clock instead of 12. This was described in another review. However, I did like this lightweight adapter (compared to the very solid $160 Voigtlaender for M mount). My alternative would have been to mount an M39/Leica M converter adding even more weight. The whole point was to match this 120g lens with the NEX-7 as an easy to carry camera. So I figured that 1/6 of a turn, or 1/6 of 1 mm = 0.15 mm had to come off the flange. Would it give me past-infinity focus?A flat file, and a mouse sander to polish (120 then 180 grit), and the job was done in an hour (most of the time for cleaning, and I proceeded in two steps to observe how this was workinng out). First you get the black point off, then you go for the relatively soft metal alloy. The flange overall has between 0.5 and1 mm thickness. Blew off the metal dust, washed and dried it before bringing it near the lens or the camera! No issues with the thread mount working worse than before. My final result has the focus/aperture marker at 11:30 (not at 12), which doesn't bother me. (too lazy to go for a third pass, and don't want past-infinity focus anyway).

2 of my lenses screwed in fine. 2 others bound up on the last 1-2mm. It took lubrication and a lot of elbow grease to work them through. Infinity focus was accurate. However Fotodiox did not respond to my e-mail for tech support. Not nice.

I have purchased several Fotodiox items over the years (different lens adapters and step rings), and I've always been happy with the quality of their products. In fact, I chose this adapter over the other options available partly because it was from Fotodiox. It's probably also why I uncharacteristically ordered without even thinking to look at the customer reviews. This item is lightweight and beautifully machined & finished. It really is a gorgeous item to look at, and is great quality work for the price. That said, it has absolutely no practical use and should be recalled.Other reviews have mentioned the poor fit, but didn't explain why. Leica Thread Mount is 39mm x 26tpi (approximately 0.977mm), which means that even if this adapter was 39mm x 1 (as it claims), the fit would be close, though not perfect. However, this adapter is actually 39mm x 0.75mm! Looking closely at the image here, you can see that it has a finer thread compared to other LTM mounts. You may be able to get a lens in a turn or two, but not all the way without risking damage - and who wants to risk damaging a Leica lens? Perhaps there are lenses out there with a 39mm x 0.75mm mount, but I don't know of any, nor whether they would focus to infinity with this adapter. After more than 2 years on the market, I'm very surprised that nobody else seems to have caught the significant mistake made in the manufacturing of this item.

I got this to work with my Jupiter 8, and at first it didn't fit nor give a full infinity. But after a while, and some cleaning of the lens' threads it fit perfectly and proved to be a very good adapter. The bad side to this adapter is the lenses that you put on it. If it doesn't fit, try some alcohol and q-tips. Apart from that, it fit very snug and has a very clean look to it as well. Worth recommending, but only if your lens' are well kept.

This adapter does the job, with a nice, secure fit, and it does seem to hit infinity alright. Thread pitch is not a problem. The one quirk (and the reason for -2 stars from perfect) is that the threading puts my Voigtlander 12mm Ultra Wide Heliar's range and f-stop numbers squarely on the bottom of the lens when attached, rather than the top. This is unfortunate, as it makes it inconvenient to read those numbers quickly during use.
