This button does its job and that is to open the garage door. I have a Genie Series II opener from the late 90s.However, I can’t get the light to work. If I wire it per the directions the light in the button works, however the button will not open the door. But if I reverse the wiring it opens the door but does not turn on the button light. The garage door light comes on as expected when the door opens and closes.The installation was simple. I used the existing screws rather than the included ones, but it’s nice to have them if necessary.

This opener looks great and installs very easily. I used it on an older Stanley opener with a simple 2 wire connection. This was actually an upgrade for me - the previous homeowners had installed a literal doorbell button to complete the circuit on the switch. This switch looks much better, has a great feel to the button and has the added functionality of an LED light for easy visibility at night. Overall, these switches are a great value!

Super easy installation (don't throw away screws attaching your current button to the wall: chances are, they may work for the new button).My garage door opener is at least 20 years old. I suspect this is why i do not see any light even though the button works well. Or, maybe, I need to flip the contacts.

Our garage door opener (shown on the right in the picture) worked, but the button would stick. That caused us to almost hit the door twice. When it sticks, the door would open as intended, but after about 20 seconds, it would start to close again. We would start to back the car out, then the door would start to close and we'd have to make a quick decision to either go back in, or race the door. Fortunately, we never hit it, but it would closer than we would like. That's why we decided to get a new button to swap it. There's only 2 wires involved, so it took about 5 minutes. The new one has a much brighter LED behind the button, and a satisfying click when pressed. We're very happy with it!
