The first one I received, was dead out of the box. It would light up, but no readings. I ordered a second one directly from Glow Shift to speed up the project rather than return one and wait for a replacement. The second one would give me erratic readings. (Tried 2 different HEI filters, neither one worked at all). Sent the first and second tach back for testing and was sent a 3rd. The 3rd one was no good either. Sometimes it would work fine, then all of the sudden it would give erratic readings. Sent it back and put in an AutoGauge unit

Soldered all wires, doubled grounds, guage still reads innacurate. Out of despratism I decided to order another and it came to me smelling like burnt electrical and the 1992 f150 with a 4.9 L6 wouldn’t even start with the second gauge installed. Do yourself a favor and throw your money straight in the trash and save yourself the head ache rather than buy this gauge.

Not a fan. Tach hasn’t worked and tried everything. Bought a new tach and still nothing.

I have tried other tachs for my motorcycle and they didn't work. This one works great. I have a Honda v-twin that uses 2 ignition coils and does not have a factory tach. I tried using other automotive and the 2 resistor/diode single fire to dual fire but that didn't seem to be reading correctly either. With this tach on the 2 cyl setting, I was able just to hook it right to the negative wire on one of the coils and it is reading correctly.
