Had a 2009 CTSV that didn't work to pop the trunk from the outside. The third brake lights seals leaked, and would pour water in the trunk all the time. My old switch did NOT work. It was very crunchy inside, and one of those wires was broken at the switch. I cut the wires AT the switch, stripped off an inch of wire and used adhesive lined heat shrink and used an uninsulated, crimp butt connector and hooked up the new one. Works perfectly! (Make sure to seal up your third brake light. I used some clear silicone that I let sit and set up for the better part of a day)

Product was a factory part which made it super easy to install with the same wire colors as the OEM part.

no issues with it yet. super easy to install. pop out old one, cut wires close by, solder, shrinkwrap and voila! Saves you from opening up back door panels.

Installed on a 2010 Cadillac CTS.The trunk release button was not to hard to install. Watch a YouTube video to see how. When deciding which button to buy, I debated on ordering one with the factory connector on it. Well I made the right choice because I had to cut the wire anyways. The wires were wrapped right into the wiring harness, no connector on it. Did have to file the end if the plastic base a little to get the button base to fit into the housing though. The button did not seem to work right away for some reason. I had to click it about 10x before it really started to work. After that it worked great. There is no need to take any of the covering in the trunk off. Just pop the button out of the trunk handle, cut the wire, properly attach the wires and snap the button into place. While doing this we did have to fix a couple broken wires in the harness loop hanging down from the trunk lid to the trunk. Looks like the wires cracked over time. These wires were for the license plate lights and the interior trunk light.Hope this helps.

The Enclave has multiple wires (camera, plate lights) to the same plug as the open switch. You will have to splice in the new switch in some way. I stripped the old and new switch wire and soldered it in.I couldn't find a video with my same model, but most instructions you can find for Acadia or Traverse are close. "2011 Equinox liftgate won't open easy fix" on you know where tube is the best IMO.Remove the inside cover by pulling the plastic cover off the handle, then remove two screws holding in the handle. There are two black push plugs near the latch. These are two-layer--pull out the middle first, then the rest of the plug is easy to remove. Next, you can pull the main inside plastic cover off. Three electrical plugs have to be removed. The first is near the bottom of the tailgate, on the driver side, and does not have much spare wire length--don't pull too hard on the plastic cover until you get it unplugged. The cover also loops over two clips inside the plastic trim on the top of the gate. Expect those to get pulled out.Once you have the cover off, there are four nuts and a plastic trim clip holding in the switch panel. Remove the nuts, push the rubber grommet with the plug out the back of the gate, and push the small plastic clip out. Then you can remove the whole switch/camera/light assembly.Admire the work you have done! clean up the 15+ years of road grime. The switch snaps in with four plastic tabs. pulling the old one out is no problem--it doesn't work, tear it out. Put the new one in with the tabs on the furthest back already set, then push in the tabs that would sit against the tailgate side. If you look, there is a slight "ramp" on the tailgate side that pushes the tabs in as you install the new switch. The rest is reverse the removal procedure. I hope this helps!

Fits my 2008 buick enclave perfectly, just make sure you are not afraid to cut and splice wires.
