I know spending money on these cardboard huts seems crazy…. But my Guinea pigs LOVE them. The size and shape are just perfect and they love to chew on them and hang out in them.

I had the original crunchy condos (the one pictured as the product image) and they were perfectly wide for my pigs. Now, the new ones are smaller, made to resemble a castle, and the opening/doorway is narrower. My Abyssinian pig no longer fits through the opening so it just ends up being knocked over. This is fixed by cutting it wider, but for the price of $5 per small cardboard box, I would like if it was functional without being cut! I preferred the simple design and larger size of the old crunchy condos.

A lot of people have mentioned that it is simply a cardboard box and that is true. And I have loads of old Amazon boxes around. But this product fills a need! I have taken those boxes and removed all tape and labels but maybe it's not a great size, etc. With these, the size is standard and it's more or less ready to go once you fold it and tape it. One less little headache in your day! Mine did come with the paper tape. I spent no small amount of time trying to peel one side away from the other and then saw a question answered about it being water-activated. Then it worked! But you don't need it if you have tucked the four flaps in; then you have your roof. I can do without the pop-out guinea pig heads and the one with a twine that can 'climb' up the side, and I'm not especially interested in the guinea pig art with their names, although I am sure these are wonderful guineas. ;) It would be nice if the design were improved so that the ceiling part could be slotted together rather than taped, and maybe it already does, and I couldn't figure it out. So that the floor of the house doesn't get wet and soiled, I just folded the cardboard the other way so that they sit outside the house. Yes, this is something you could make yourself. I like the convenience and will definitely use the three that came, and then will decide if I want any more.

My three guinea girls have been a long-time fans of the cardboard condos made by GuineaDad. They love nibbling on them, jumping through their windows, and napping in them. Our most recent order came with a fun castle-themed surprise! The new boxes have ren-fair guinea pigs on them, including an adorable archer cutout that can be hung from the box itself! And thanks to the archer body drawn below the window, my little guinea girls look like archers when they poke their heads through the windows! We love the new design, thank you for the surprise upgrade!

Got these for my boar who recently lost his cage mate. I remembered he used to like it when I made him box hideys when he was younger. He really surprised me by popcorning madly and doing zoomies when I put one of them into his cage. He's four and a half and has arthritis but this didn't slow him down! He has been chewing on the box between zoomies, and running in and out of it. Simple product but it has made my piggy very happy, will def buy again.

While it’s a hide that needs to be replaced, the guinea pigs have a blast munching away at it. Given that it’s cardboard I don’t expect it to be durable. It’s easily flipped over, so if you get this you will need a more stable and permanent place for the guinea pigs to hide. It’s very fun and keeps them occupied for hours! I especially love seeing their faces poke out of the windows. Just don’t expect it to last you longer than a week!

My guinea pigs loooooove cardboard anything, so this was a very crunchy hit! I had to tape them closed though or they were crooked.

When these boxes arrived, I was surprised at the size and was not sure if my guinea pigs would fit in them. But the boxes are great! Super cute little peep hole and my angels are both happy in them. Will be buying more:)
