Hawk Performance’s HP Plus brake pad compound is ideal for Autocross and Track Day drivers looking for a high performance race compound that can take the heat of the track and get you home safely without having to change the pads. HP Plus utilizes a unique Ferro-Carbon, high-tech friction material that was developed and manufactured for sport driving in autocross, Solo II and “track day” applications. The Ferro-Carbon formulation offers lower wear rates and higher torque values than other competitive materials. Extremely high coefficient of friction makes HP Plus the perfect upgrade over stock for high performance streetcars used in autocross competition or that experience repetitive, heavy braking. Warning: Due to the dramatic friction levels produced by this product to achieve "race-level" braking, rotor wear, noise, dust and pad life may be affected. Note: Hawk Performance burnishes its HP Plus brake pads as a final step in the factory, but all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

First pair I put on my front for my subaru STI. The squealing was out of this world. It was not a matter of installation as my rears were fine. After a month of constant squealing, I finally did an RMA through amazon for a different pair. Installed, and the squealing was less, but now my rotors have become scored. These are horrible brake pads.

Use these on my 2011 Subaru STI. Simple awesome. Great initial bite and easy modulation. I do periodic track days and have ruined lesser brake pads in less than one track day. No more sacrifice...go with the better engineered product. I initially had concerns over using these for everyday driving....no longer. These are simply the best braking experience I've had....much better than the stock Brembo pads.

(application: 2011 STi, daily driver, very few track day events)If these things worked any better, they would stop time itself. On an '11 STi they still have lots of capability left even when I'm pushing the tires to their limits on dry, flat, solid pavement. They are predictable and require no special driver input even when wet or cold. But there's a reason these aren't on every car on the planet, of course: They are pretty much flat-out race brakes. They squeal. Decelerate around town and you can get a barber-shop quarter of squeaks as each corner puts out it's own melody. With practice, you can minimize the squealing (yes, your neighbors will notice it, there is no way around this). And your motoring peers will give you nods of respect (or sympathy?) for your dedication. Guys on Harleys with open pipes will grimace when you pull up next to them. Your car will now have a loud pedal and a louder pedal. Which is which depends on how modded your exhaust is.All that said, I knew what I was getting into, I can live with the squealing, and I love knowing that the one time a week or month that I **REALLY** need my brakes to do some epic-level velocity-shedding, I'm covered with these.
