This grabber looks professional and feels well-made. At 69 inches, it provides excellent reach. Assembly took about a minute, and while slightly heavy, it feels sturdy and durable.Constructed from stainless steel tubing, it is strong, long-lasting, and resistant to rust. The jaw adjusts from 0.6 to 3.6 inches and locks into five different positions for versatility.Although I didn’t purchase this grabber for snakes—since I’ve never seen one in my area—I have encountered coyotes, skunks, opossums, mice, squirrels, lizards, and raccoons. My main use is fruit picking, and this grabber outperforms several other fruit pickers. Its claws slip effortlessly through leaves and branches, neatly plucking multiple limes with minimal entanglement. While our persimmons aren’t in season, most are smaller than the jaw’s maximum opening, suggesting it will handle them well too.If the manufacturer added rubber-coated attachments to improve grip for fruit and other objects, they could attract a broader customer base and increase sales.Only time will tell how durable this grabber is, but for now, with its long reach and slim profile, it performs exceptionally well for fruit picking. Highly recommended for picking fruits too!

Hopefully, I won't need to use these, but we do live out in a place where there's "good" and "bad" snakes. We are about to put chickens outside, which might draw more in so I just want these on hand for moving any off the property. The clasp seems to work well and I like that there is a locking lever to keep it closed around the snake's body just in case you have to drop and run. I don't think they would be able to drag this with them. it's kind of like the lever lock on a gas pump. I plan on leaving mine fully assembled so it's ready to go when I need it. They do give a warning about repeated opening and closing wearing down the metal cordage inside the graspers. It won't work unless you have the bottom extended where the black flap allows the pole to fully extend. I have had to remove snakes without something like this, and I would much rather have a tool handy. I figured at this price that's not that bad.

THE GOOD:--------------* High quality snake tongs.* Once assembled, it's 69" long.* Easy to break down and put away.* Humane, will not hurt snake.* Not just for snakes, but could be used as a reacher, grabber, helping hand, etc.THE BAD:-----------* Instructions were confusing. It's better to watch the video on the listing page.* I don't quite understand the 5 gears. Whatever you choose, it's only good for one trigger, then the clip that selects the gear falls out of place. So I don't think it's a true "gear." I don't think you set this at all. I think you grab the snake, then you select the gear to either loosen or tighten. I dunno. There should be more demo about this in their listing page. I'll go 4-Stars, since I'll mainly be using this as a grabber of things. I hope to never run into snakes. LOL!

I have all kinds of snakes, especially rattle snake, in my backyard every Spring and Summer time. Normally, I would wait for animal control people to come and retrieve them. With this grabber, however, I was able to catch and put them in a bucket safely before they can slither away. The tool is very well made and sturdy. It's not heavy at all, despite its bulky appearance, and can extend quite long to ensure a safe distance from the the snakes. The neat thing is that it can be folded in shorter length when not in use. It took me some time to figure out how to adjust the grab tightness as the paper instructions was not very clear. However, the video clip on the product page shows it more clearly. Overall, I would recommend this multi-use grabber to anyone in the market.

I tried assembling this multiple times and never could get it to work. The box came with brief, vague instructions and an email address where I could get a link to a video. I sent an email, but never heard back. Then, I found the video along with the product description on Amazon. Watched it several times, tried assembling several times, no luck. The problem is that the metal wire running from the handle to the clip was never taught enough to work the clip. I'm returning the product. Like the compact size and heavy duty nature, but it wont work with the loose wire.
