Purchased this cable thinking that the nominal voltage would be around 13 volts but the DC output of the EU 2000 is about 18 volts.

If you have one of the Honda generators that can accept this charger, then you should definitely buy it! I find it to be super helpful. When you put this in, you immediately have 12 V worth of power at your disposal. I use it for charging my battery but I have often used it connected to a cigarette lighter adapter to charge my cell phone.

I only received these last night and I'm kind of hoping I never have to use them. They are of a useful length and the clips are very nice quality; they are not cheesy. Glad I bought them for insurance on the road with the Honda generator. Why not have them with you for under 12 bucks?

This review is for the Honda DC Charging cable. The one I received is slightly different from the one pictured in some sales pictures. The DC plug on the one I received is a molded construction type so you can not disassemble the unit. It is a heavier duty construction than your typical lamp plug. The large alligator clips fit around large battery posts easily. The quality of the alligator clips are such that I expect they will rust easily if exposed to moisture and not stored properly. The wires are only crimped to the alligator clips so I took a few minutes and soldered the leads to the clips. The cable is 10 feet long from the tips of the DC plug to the end of the alligator clips. The wire is 16AWG lamp cord and my reference rates it at 13 amps. Honda rates the unregulated DC output of the generator at 8 Amps and will likely trip the DC breaker if exceeded. IMHO this cable will meet the needs of the average user if not abused.

This cable is an accessory for my Honda generator. No problems and no regrets! I use it to top off my solar battery bank. It is used for what it is designed for. It is meant to be used as a battery charge for the Honda inverter generators. The "maximum" charging DC output is 8A, that means the generator is not supplying any other loads while it is charging a battery.
