This is exactly as described. It’s expensive, it does things that no other saw can with hobbyists, small wood, but and the only but would be the lack of available blades. I had hoped to cleanly cut sheets of wood veneer which needs a clean, high speed cut, with the only blade choice at 80 teeth it’s just not enough. I really like this tool, but the price caused me not to. It’s easy, portable, and it’s good stuff.

This is at the high end of the price spectrum for mini table saws here on Amazon. I have only used it so far to cut cedar panels and panels with leather adhered but it has worked quite well. I did have to add tape to the square to keep it from being wobbly and it would be very helpful if the table could be expanded as the size can be very limiting. The other criticism I have is that the switch, covered in a rubber membrane, can be hard to find and actuate depending on the distance from your eye to the saw-I will replace this.

I have no idea why Micro Mark loves slotted screws so much, but boy that love is evident in this great little table saw. Nearly every screw that you'll need to turn frequently is slotted, and it's not a one-size-fits-all situation, if you want to make quick adjustments you'll need an assortment from big chunky flat blades to tiny delicate ones. So my first modification was to the blade storage door, the large slotted nut was awkward to open with a screwdriver so I cut a piece of aluminum to fit in the slot and created a wing nut by gluing it in place. Other slotted screws were also replaced with allen heads, all accepting the same size driver.Second issue was fit and finish, The fence had a bunch of molding flash on the underside which didn't allow for completely smooth operation and would eventually scratch the table surface. I ground that away using a rotary tool. Next, the rule and numbers cast into the plastic body were impossible to see so I filled them with bright orange enamel, then lightly wet sanded to make all the edges crisp so everything can now be read on the fly.My next modification was to mount the saw to a base of 3/4" plywood which I'd embedded four rare earth magnets in the underside and covered with rubber anti-vibe mat. This allowed the saw to be solidly fixed to my metal work bench without being permanently mounted. The addition of the plywood with its rubber mat made the saw study enough to stay put during regular use, so it's a good option even without the magnets.Besides these small tweaks, the saw is an amazing tool and so great for those little cuts which still require more accuracy than I can get with my bandsaw. The variable speed is an impressive option and makes cutting a wide variety of materials so much easier. All the controls are located on the front of the saw and are perfectly straightforward. The saw feels sturdy and very well built, the table surface is perfectly flat and the blade adjustment was correct right from the factory on my unit.I do wish that Micro Mark could spend a bit more on the small things already mentioned, but for a niche product like this I'm sure build costs are already high so I understand.

I have a few Proxxon tools and a few from Micro-Mark, and the latter is always kinda like a bad stepchild- similar, but a little less refined. I've had this tool for 12 years and it's great for light materials, styrene, acrylic, (barely aluminum) and small bits of wood. But compared to a Proxxon, it's just a little more flimsy (the cover plastic, extendor base foot, and blade affixation). The Proxxon just feels like a more professional tool. Now my biggest beef is with the company- I had to order some spare parts- a belt, blades, zero-clearance throat plates, the order got messed up, and took 2 weeks to fix. The customer service was rude, and after 9 days of screw-ups, mailed my package the slowest GROUND service possible- not apologizing for the mixup, or speeding up my shipment to make up for a week of downtime. I was a customer of MicroMark for 20 years, not anymore.
