This did not fit my device. I reviewed it to ensure it was the right model and correct battery, which it was, but it would not connect to the motherboard connection no matter how hard I tried. I returned the item. My GPS will work fine without the battery, just if I shut off the car the device shuts down also. However, when I turn it back on the trip still comes up and it continues to store past trips if I want to look them up, so having the battery is not important enough for me to purchase after all. When the old battery was in it, the device would shut off even going down the road and even plugged in, but after taking the battery out and using no battery it works fine as long as it is plugged in.

Ok, I got it and thought; "Well, maybe. Looks good on Amazon but does it really work and is it going to be a pain in the a**." Got it in and watch the online video on youtube and just stopped the video as I did each step. Wow. Well, I'm no engineer and it was simple to follow and easy to do. Be careful and don't lose the screws or bend the metal ribbon and you've got an easy battery fix. Not sure how long the battery lasts as I just put it in. Thanks.

The battery arrived in a timely manner. The battery was at a full charge when it arrived which was encouraging. Time will tell about the battery life. My big disappointment was the torx head screwdriver. You better have your own. The one I received was too small to engage. I probably could have ground down the tip to make it work as the spines of the bit are somewhat tapered. The screws are recessed into the plastic a bit and makes it hard to tell if the driver was engaging with the splines of the screw due to shadows. I wouldn't have bought a kit had I known that. Luckily, I have a T6 torx screwdriver and got the screws out. I will admit that the little plastic disassembly tool did a good job. For the price of this kit, I should have just bought a battery.

Video instruction is good. Takes some work to loosen the trim and even more to separate the body parts. Somewhat unnerving when removing the circuit board and even though it shows on the video, would be nice to know the circuit board is attached with ribbon connector. Learned you should remove memory stick before starting as it made removing circuit board harder and impossible to put back together. Also, there was a little pin in the corner the circuit board had to fit on for proper alignment. Think it would have been a little easier to pry the body apart if there were two pry tools.

Wasnt too confident when ordering but the kit came with a CD which showed step by step procedures. I followed this and to my pleasure (and relief) I took it apart, replaced the battery and put it back together again. Only missing information is that the original battery is well stuck down with double sided tape. Patience needed but it does come away. Just hope the battery has the same longevity that the original Garmin battery had. Time will tell.

dvd chiaro, facile la sostituzione della batteria. Utensili idonei.Gradite viti di ricambio perchè una delle viti si è rovinata ed è stato necessario fresare la testa per estrarla.Conseguentemente di 4 viti nel rimontaggio una è mancante. Peraltro il tutto è ben chiuso.

Every thing just as the Seller claimed. Video on You Tube not an exact (100%) match but so close I'd rate it excellent. Everything went fine on the installation. On a trip from San Antonio to Dallas the battery which had been fully charged, started giving "LOW battery " messages around Waxahachie. Plugged into my auxiliary 12 power connector (Cigarette lighter) and although the unit still worked the screen was so dim I couldn't read it. The battery is supposed to last for a year - it has only been a few weeks so I cannot comment on battery life expectancy yet.

Ich habe den Akku meines nüvi 1390 mit Hilfe dieses Kits ausgetauscht. Der Austausch ging mit dem mitgelieferten Werkzeug und der DVD weitgehend problemlos. Am besten, man sieht sich das Video - das nur ein paar Minuten lang ist - vorher einmal in Ruhe an. Dabei ist zu beachten, dass das Video auf englisch ist. Die Werkzeuge haben gut funktioniert, nur beim Eindrehen der letzten Schraube beim Zusammensetzen am Ende hat der Schraubenzieher dann den Geist aufgegeben - zum Glück war die Schraube da schon fast komplett drin. Man muss wohl sofort reagieren, wenn eine der Schrauben auch nur ein bisschen verkantet bzw. schwergängig wird. Ansonsten ging der Austausch problemlos und in wenigen Minuten. Lediglich der Originalakku war im Gehäuse fester eingeklebt, als es im Video schien, und es war schon einiger (dosierter) Kraftaufwand für die Entfernung nötig. Das Navi läuft nach Austausch des Akkus wieder einwandfrei, ohne ständige Warnfenster und Selbstabschaltung. Zusammen mit einem neuen Ladekabel funktioniert funktioniert mein nüvi wieder wie am ersten Tag, und eine sinnvollere und umweltfreundlichere Investition als ein neues Navi ist so ein Austauschakku allemal.Nachtrag Mai 2016:Nach gut einem Jahr ist nun aus dem Navi mitunter ein Klappern zu hören, was wohl bedeutet, dass der Austauschakku nicht mehr richtig im Gehäuse verklebt ist. Allerdings funktioniert das Navi immer noch einwandfrei; es ist also eher ein ästhetisches Problem. Evtl. wäre es sinnvoll, beim Einbau ein hochwertiges / größeres Klebeband zu verwenden.

Le kit est parfait avec le tournevis adapté et le cd de démo (la vidéo est aussi disponible sur YOUTUBE).La batterie fonctionne correctement (déjà 2 mois d'utilisation).Le plus dur a été le démontage car les vis sont fragiles. Il faut y aller doucement au risque d'abimer les têtes. Dans ce cas là, ne pas hésiter à utiliser la perceuse (avec précision) pour les faire sauter ! On en a fait l'expérience. Au final, 35 min pour faire le changement de batterie.

My Garmin GPS died - wouldn't turn on, wouldn't charge. Called Garmin & customer support basically said it was dead, but if I wanted to I could send it to them & they could try to fix it - for $100. I found the New Power 99 video & thought I'd give it a shot - if it worked, fantastic, & I'd save $75. If it didn't - oh well. Got the New Power 99 kit in the mail, followed the instructions on the DVD, and within 20 minutes I had the Garmin open, the old battery out (although it was glued to the inside of the case), and the new battery in (although the cable to the connector was a little too long in my opinion, it did fit.) Re-assembled the GPS, pushed the power button - and the GPS works again! I haven't used it since then, but the New Power 99 battery replacement kit did what it promised to do. The price was definitely right; much better than mailing the dead GPS back, hoping it worked & then paying out the nose, or buying a brand-new one.

With the technology improvements and the cost of replacement Garmin's coming down, I was unsure if battery replacement was the logical choice. In the end, other than the original battery no longer being able to hold a charge, our 1300 was in perfect condition. So after considerable research I chose the Power99. The kit arrived within three days to our north-central USA address. The kit included tools and CD containing the same video as I watched on You-Tube. All were key to why I chose this kit over the competition. I only needed to provide an inch of paper-thin double sided tape. Installation was very easy, and when booted up, the GPS indicated the new battery was already fully charged.
