Working Principle

When the driver depresses the pedal, the force exerted by the foot causes the piston in the master cylinder to push the brake fluid forward and create pressure in the fluid circuit. The pressure is transmitted by the brake fluid to the piston of the brake cylinder at each wheel. The piston of the brake cylinder then pushes the brake pads outward, causing the brake pads to rub against the inner surface of the brake drums and generating enough friction to slow down the speed of the wheels in order to achieve the purpose of braking.
