Three discrete layers are combined in a tri-extrusion process. By sealing the colored layer between two microscopically thin layers of clear film, dye migration is minimized and effective life is extended. Roscolux (sold under the trade name "Supergel" overseas) is currently the most widely used filter range in the world.Roscolux is comprised of two types of plastic. More than 65% of the line is made from co-extruded polycarbonate plastic. The remainder of the line is deep dyed polyester.Ordinary color filter is manufactured by surface coating clear polyester plastic film. In essence, the color is painted onto the surface. This means that heat and physical abrasion can easily remove the dye, resulting in quick fading and scratching.Available in sheets of 20in. x 24in. (50cm x 61cm) or rolls of 24in. x 25ft. (61cm x 7.62m). If you require rolls of larger dimensions the Cinelux line of filters is available in rolls of 48in. x 25ft. (122cm x 7.62m).

Not much more to say. It's a 20x24 sheet of Rosco medium purple party gel. Very useful if you need to add some purple to a scene.My favorite use for this (and other party gels) is to hang strings of small mirrors (or http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004QIKS7C/ ) ~10 feet behind my subject, gel a couple lights and flag them so they are only shining on the mirrors. Then shoot wide open with your focus on the subject and you get very nice colored bokeh spheres in the background.

Arrive in perfect condition and does exactly what it's supposed to do - cast colors from my lights. I used a hard plastic white filter that came with my LED lights as a pattern to cut sheets of this that fit perfectly in the little filter slots at the front of my lights. They stay in place just fine.For those concerned about scratches or creases in this product, it absolutely does NOT matter if it is scuffed or creased. It does not diminish the product's effectiveness at all. It is only meant to change the color of your lights and that works perfectly even if the product is very creased or scratched.I have started experimenting with cutouts on the color gel sheets to cast different patterns on my background. It makes more fun and interesting effects and there is really no limit to what you can do with these color gel sheets. Imagination goes a long way with these.

Contrary to other reviews, this is nowhere close to ravens purple, but it's not advertised as it either.That being said, it's good quality film and got here fast.

when I opened the mailing tube, I was delighted to find the gell rolled carefully with a light felt sheet, not a scratch on it, I put it behind a small 100 watt halogen and got great color. getting to just Purple kills most of the visible spectrum, thats what I wanted, this is perfect! thanks! If you want bright purple light, you will need a pretty bright light.
