  • Replace Dust Boot with Delrin Plastic Cure Allows Resistance to Prevent "Rolling" Motion of Drag Link
  • Due to Differences in Manufacturer's Specifications, the Cure May Require Slight Modification
  • Designed For Drag Link Attachment to Passenger Side Tie Rod End Only

This is for the vehicles that have the Y-Link style steering. Many vehicles get the "dead spot" in the steering wheel. Typically, the driver would find the steering wheel turn a couple inches to the left or right, but yet drive straight. The issue is that the drag link, the tie rod link from the steering box to the passenger side, creates a "rolling" motion at the passenger side connection. When torque is applied to the steering, this tie rod end rolls up the main tie rod assembly, and when turned the opposite direction, it rolls down the tie rod. Our "Cure" prevents that up-and-down rolling motion, resulting in a much tighter steering and better control. Made of machined Delrin plastic, this spacer will tighten up the loose spots, and give resistance to the "roll." Not all tie rod ends are created equal. Some have a long pin, some have a short pin. This item has been specifically made to work with a factory tie rod end. In some cases, you may need to sand the outside surface to allow for a flush fit. Proper seating is snug, not tight. It naturally has a grease pocket built-in. In most cases the tie rod boot may need to be removed to properly seat the tie rod end, but will also fit over the boot.

Will not fit my 91 yj it’s way to thick for the bolt will not pass through enough to get a nut on.. maybe if it was wider to cup around the boot an not try an smash into it.. seller won’t let me return without paying 7.99 for shipping what a joke save your money

Very seldom do you find an inexpensive "fix" but this is it. Improved steering and handling by 90%To say I'm happy with result is an understatement. The only problem I had was caused by me, I over tightened the castle nut on the spindle and tore the dust boot on the ball joint. Easy fix.Would very definitly reccomend to any XJ owner

I've read too many criticisms of this product. it's not perfect: i had to fit it a little by sanding thickness. it does help: after install on a y link setup with all new rod ends and ball joints, i still noticed the steering become more responsive. It's not just a bushing cut in half. it's clearly machined. if you had stock/oem y link, it may fit great right out of the box. I would do it again.

This little disc makes an amazing difference in steering feel, response and overall drivability of my Jeep. The cost is pretty ridiculous for what it is, but no one else is dong this. So there you go. This was likely some other part for another use that was one day used to cure some guys front end issue. Discovered to be the perfect solution through serendipity. The perfect solution it is.

Installed on my Jeep Cherokee 99 (XJ) and worked fine. Readers please be advised that I don't have stock tie rod ends on my Cherokee, but replaced them several miles ago with Moog Problem solver. If you are using stock tie rod ends (or any other of the same type), you should install the "RuffStuff Specialties Y-Link Steering Tie Rod "CURE" instead.Improved drive-ability , you will notice less wandering on your steering wheel.
