These latches work but they do not operate smoothly. I don’t have a lot of confidence they’ll last long.

The not that secures the lock is horribly soft metal,, it will not secure the lock at all but I used the nuts from the generic keyed locks on my camper and now this lock is great

Over all these are a nice lock. I ordered two sets of 4 so I could double lock my compartments. They send a straight latch and a pre bent latch which may or may not work for your door. I did use a hammer to adjust the latch for my rv which I didn’t have a problem with. You could go and get a spacer but that seemed like a lot of grief especially when I own a big heavy hammer! The doors are tight when locked and add a nice look to my rv. I also removed the nib on the end of the key so I can remove it without the lock being in the locked position.

I was going to replace my 3 locks and have a spare for what they wanted for 2 replacement keys for my old locks. I like not being able to take the key out unless it is in lock position, that way I know the compartment is locked. I see one reviewer purchased these for their propane compartment door. Big time no, no. The fire department needs to be able to shut off your propane in the case of a fire. Lock your tank with a chain and padlock so the valve can be closed.Well after inspection of my purchase I still think these are a good buy, but the fact that you get 4 locks doesn’t mean you get 8 keys. Nope, 4 locks and 2 keys. Didn’t see that in the description.

The locks arrived on time. Although no instructions, installed quite quickly. Had to do some adjustments to the latch to make it catch with the correct amount of tightness (washers and bending). Shaft fit the opening nicely. It is not as solid material as I expected...tinny type keys and locking mechanism but it works fine. Now to see how long they will last.. .

EDIT : these locks did not last, after only 5 months (taking in account for winter, and not using. Locks are hardly useable, very hard to turn, it was very difficult to remove key. Felt grinding inside of lock. So beware!. I had to replace all the locks.Locks appear to be just as sturdy as the 751, with the BIG exception, that the key fits easier than those OTHER keys. The only drawback for some will be, you can't remove it unless it is in the locked position. No big deal, just lock the cover while open and remove the key. I did needed to adjust the tab a bit, a few taps and it is snug as a bug in a rug. No more struggling to lock or unlock....which way the fits or wiggling it around to make it fit.

Easy to replace the old basic type lock. The worst thing about it is the key can only be removed in the locked position, which is a big disappointment. I would look for one that allows for the key to be removed in the unlocked position, so it can be left unlocked while at the campsite.

Wanted to replace the old 571 key locks on my cargo compartments of my 5th wheel RV. I measured the thickness of my cargo doors, and decided to go with the 7/8" locks. They worked out perfect, and I'm not sure if the 5/8" would have been long enough for the thickness of my doors. Anyway, easy to remove the old locks, and just as easy to install the new ones. You cannot take out the key after you unlock the door, so you have to slightly open the door, and then turn the key back to its locked position and then remove the key. A bit of a hassle, but much better locks than the old 571's and a somewhat better piece of mind that my stuff is better secured from tempting minds (thieves). Delivery was quick and item is exactly as shown. I strongly recommend these locks to anyone who is considering a change over of locks for their RV cargo doors.

Far better Thant he other style of key. The only issue I found is you can't pull the key out in the open position, only in the locked, which requires you to open the compartment and then returned the tab to the locked position while open to remove the key.

Easy install. It does not come with the gaskets so hang on to the old ones when you swap over.

Used for locking rv outside cabinets. The flat piece was too tight, the angled piece was too loose. Had to improvise using the piece from the old lock. Don't like the fact that the key will not come out in the unlocked position. But do like the round key. Very hard to duplicate.
