I’d tried baseball caps, a bicycle helmet and a few other light weight ‘hard hat’ caps. If I had a dollar for every time I whacked my head working underneath a car or gouged my scalp on a roofing nail while in the attic, I’d have enough to take at least a weekend vacation in the Caribbean .I purchased a couple of other hard hat caps on Amazon. Either the head shape didn’t work for me, the visor was too long, or the material didn’t hold up. I bought this one last Summer and for my head shape (medium oval) this cap does the trick. I’d prefer if it didn’t have a visor. Aside from that it’s a keeper.

Got this bump cap for working at the shop, kept bashing my head off the lift and vehicle tires, trying to be quick, but sometimes I’m clumsy, so got this bump cap, and saved myself a lot of head trauma, it’s a little funky looking because of the padding, but it works very well, fair trade off I’d say, highly recommend if you want to save yourself some headache.

This is a much better solution to safety than a hard hat, especially working around trees, bushes or under cabinets. The chin strap holds it on well.

Hat fits good. Works good, not a hot weather cap as is though. Retains the heat which is good this time of year!. I would buy again and recommend to others.

I play adult softball leagues where no one wears helmets for some reason, despite wearing helmets in baseball and softball our entire child hoods (seems weird to me), but I was running the bases and dove into second and got hit in the head with a softball a few weeks ago. Bought this hat which I will now be wearing to run the bases and at bat forever. It's amazing, fits great, has way more protection than I was anticipating and you cant even tell it's a helmet. Everyone on my softball team was surprised how well protected it is. I would use this for construction as well, but a few other people on my softball team ordered this and they're going to start wearing it too when Batting and running the bases.
