Size:1 pack Size:1 pack Specific gravity hydrometers are the most widely used hydrometer, common in industries such as food and beverage, chemistry, pharmacology, transportation, refrigeration and more. Available in a wide range of models measuring specific gravity / relative density (g/cm cube) of a variety of liquids in various ranges from 0.600 to 0.920, with 0.0005 divisions. Made of lead free ballast and glass, these 325mm (12.8") long plain form hydrometers are individually serialized. Temperature standardization is 60 degrees F (15 degrees C). DURAC Precision Hydrometers are hand inspected by our U.S. quality team in our exclusive triple accredited/registered ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and A2LA Accredited Calibration Laboratory; internationally recognized and accepted by the signatory economies of the ILAC/MRA and located in our ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System registered facility. They are packaged with a multi-language (English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish) Statement of Accuracy indicating accuracy traceable to NIST. Note: Precision hydrometers should be stored in a clean, dry, safe place. They should not be subjected to extreme temperatures. Research, industrial and healthcare professionals rely on SP Scienceware for their sample handling needs. Fragile object arrived broken. I returned it and reordered another. That too arrived broken. Poor design and the manufacturer should redesign the packaging to better support it.

There were a lot of loose ballast pellets rolling around inside of the hydrometer. A portion of the pellets were lodged between the paper scale and the hydrometer glass. I wasn't sure if this affected performance and/or precision, or what might happen with continued use. However, if this wasn't an issue, then I assume there would be no need to seal any of the ballast in the bottom of the hydrometer in the first place. Opted to return the item for a refund instead of getting a replacement. Made in China.

calibrated and was right on. Much better than my old standard beer hydrometer. This one with the expanded scale is much easier to read. Works great for original gravity and final gravity.

Works great, I just wish the put a temperature correction thermometer built into it.
