I am reviewing the 4mm nylon SIS shift ferrules. Unfortunately, these have a couple of molded indentations on the barrel that lead to a too tight fit on 4mm shift cable housing. I could not really force these on to the point where the ferrule would bottom out as it should. This leaves an internal gap between the end of the housing and the end of the ferrule which can lead to inconsistent indexing. In contrast the Jagwire ferrules I have will slip onto the housing successfully. I worked around this by fitting a #19 drill bit in a portable drill, gripping the ferrule in a specialized pair of pliers made to hold rod shaped stock, and drilling out the section of the ferrule with the indentations. Recognizing that almost no one will have the tools available to fix these, I have to give them a 1 star rating.The Sunlite 5mm silver brake cable ferrules are another story. They are of good quality and fit on 5mm brake cable housing. They are also a good bargain. Amazon won't let me rate these separately so I will do it here. I give them a 5.
