The Brown & Sharpe 599-921-10 is a set of 10 pairs of parallels made of steel for increased durability. The set is hardened to 50 to 55 Hardness Rockwell C (HRC) for usability. There are two holes in each parallel, and height specifications related to consistency within each pair. Absolute heights are nominal. Dimensions are 6” (l) x 1/8” (w), and the pairs come in 1/2”, 5/8”, 3/4”, 7/8” 1”, 1-1/8”, 1-1/14”, 1-3/8”, 1-1/2”, 1-5/8”. The set is supplied with a custom molded case.
Parallels are used for checking, marking, or positioning work. They can also be used for setting tools.
