This is a nice telescope. It isn't the best I've seen but it's a pretty good quality as far as having it for decoration or as a talking piece. It's nice as a beginner's telescope as it's pretty easy to use and doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles. Setup was quick and easy. I haven't had much success using it outdoors, it's been pretty cloudy but as soon as we get a clear night sky, I'll give it another try.

Glad I checked before sending it as a present.. It was in awful condition.1) The mounting on the stand is very insecure and wobbly.2) Some bent and damaged metal parts.3) The painted finish on the wooden tri-stand was badly chipped in numerous places.
