This is a 7/8", 22.2mm bar in the clamp area. It's made for relatively-newer bikes with BMX-style stems. If the bars you are replacing have a normal bulge (1 inch, 25.4 mm) in the clamp area these are NOT the ones you need. You might look at Wald 898 (28"), 896 (26"), 872 (24"), 867 (20") or 8095 (touring).

This is a 7/8", 22.2mm bar in the clamp area. It's made for OLD bikes. If the bars you are replacing have a bulge (1 inch) in the clamp area these are NOT the ones you need. You want Wald 898 or the Wald 896 (the 896 will work for multi speed bikes too, it's just 2 inches narrower).IF YOU HAVE A SINGLESPEED cruiser bike with coaster brake & a 1 inch clamp area you want the WALD 872.These Wald 828 bars have plenty of room for grips, brake levers and shifters of any type, in fact the bars can be cut shorter & still work with a multi speed bike. These have NO bulge in the clamp area, they are the same thickness for the entire length of the bar.There is a large central straight area for baskets, lights, computer, horn & a cup holder. They are not particularly heavy.The serrations in the clamp area are very odd, they form two 1/2" wide strips a few inches apart, I'm not familiar with a clamp that would fit, mine is 1 7/8" wide & still doesn't quite cover them. They are aesthetically pleasing and minimal, so it's no sweat.

I had someone vandalize my bike and bend the handle bars almost in half. This set of handle bars fit great. They are wider than the originals but I should have measured before I ordered.

GOOD, WELL MADE PRODUCT. I HAD TO MODIFY IT SO IT WOULD WORK ON MY 70 SCHWINN. PURCHASE SOME SHIMS AND IT SHOULD WORK.
