BEST steering wheel style lock. Replaced one I had for years with this one, since it's better than the ones that hit the windshield. No way to steal a car unless they have a sawzall like while the delinquent thieves are stealing exhaust converters.

I first used this product over 40 years ago when I bought my new car (a '78 Mazda GLC priced at $3,950).Back then, the car was "so expensive" that I worried a thief might rip it off since it didn't come with an alarm. The Club afforded me some assurance that a thief would see it and move on to another car. The GLC was never stolen or damaged, even though it wasn't in the best of neighborhoods.I purchased it again for my used 2017 GMC Terrain that already came with an alarm. My thought was it might be stolen for its parts--especially since I had to park on the street for 3-4 months. It offered me another level of prevention against theft.3 tips:- Look at online installation videos first before returning it as defective. It my case, it was unnecessary. I was attempting to lock it incorrectly.- Don't fret about only having 2 keys and it's not necessary to buy a key blank from the manufacturer: I went to Lowes, Home Depot, and Walmart--they didn't have right blanks to duplicate it. ACE HARDWARE WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE IT: Under the counter they had drawers filled with lots of other key blanks. Their computer indicated HILLMAN 2054 would fit my lock. (They also had other closely numbered blanks for The Club to fit different key codes imprinted on the keys.)- If you don't like the steering wheel hook in black, you CAN have it in a different color: Go a hardware store or a discount store like Dollar Tree and buy electric tape in red, yellow or both colors. Then wrap the electrical tap tightly over the black. (Duct tape is too wide.)

I was worried this would make it hard to get into the vehicle but it doesn’t. It sits pretty flush with the dash so you can easily get your legs into the car. This may not be true on every car - I have a 2023 Honda Civic. I hook the steering wheel and the clutch so the car can’t be started since it requires depressing the clutch to start. I know a determined thief could defeat this (or any counter measure) but I like that this serves as an easy to deploy visual deterrent to a thief, that hopefully convinces them my vehicle is not worth the hassle.

I am reviewing The Club CL-303.I don't know about the video that shows The Club moving about, but that must have been made when it was unlocked or improved.I feel much more secure with it locking my car. I have it lock my steering wheel to the clutch, and I arrange it so the lock faces the driver's door. It takes me 15 seconds to lock and unlock 🔓 it, unless I'm fumble fingered that day. It fits easily between the door and my seat. It did cause a slight problem once when I had to stop suddenly; it moved forward, getting into the way of my clutch.I have no problem getting it snug enough to be secure. It doesn't have to be completely tight, but snug enough that the steering wheel & clutch/brake don't move.The only time The Club moves around/in & out is when it's unlocked. It can't move when it's properly locked in place...impossible! The key goes in only one way; if it's upsidedown, it won't unlock.Of course, if a pro is intent on stealing your car, they are going to, whether or not your Club is installed correctly or not. It is a deterrent. I feel much better, especially at night, knowing I have The Club in place.You don't need to purchase a more expensive model; this one is excellent for the job.

I have a old wrangler and thus car was stolen 3 times before I got it (I know the last two owners) that's how it landed in my hands because the last owner got it stolen twice and was tired of it and sold it to me. Both times it was found in the hills after being offroaded. I've had the car for a couple years and I LOVE my car and every day I'm wondering if it's still outside. 🙃 this tool gives me peace of mind because I tried hard to take it off and I can't. These old jeeps are super easy to turn on you can Even do it with a screw driver. I highly doubt they'll take the car with this bad boy on unless they have a LONG time to do it.Update: I barely got this thing like 2 weeks ago and today someone tried to take my car but they couldn't, they just bent it but it DIDNT break! It took me like 20 minutes to unlock it but I DONT CARE THIS THING SAVED MY CAR

With the videos out there on how to easily steal these vehicles, I felt compelled to make it more difficult for any would be thieves to think they can just hop in and take off. I purchased the Club style for one vehicle and this style for mine. I actually prefer this design because the steering wheel is unable to turn at all and the brake is unable to be used. I found it better that if you have a little play in the locked unit and it doesn’t feel completely secure, simply unlock the steering wheel and lift it until the lock is tight, then lock the steering wheel in place. Similarly, if the locking mechanism is too tight, don’t force it, just unlock the steering wheel, bring it down a little, lock the unit, then lift the steering wheel and lock it in place. Would definitely recommend as an affordable theft deterrent.UPDATE 4/29/2023: If you take my advice and unlock your steering wheel mechanism, lock the unit, then raise the steering wheel mechanism to get the tightest fit, I learned you MUST do the same when you are trying to remove the product. One of my keys bent pretty significantly and I am now using the backup key. Had I kept doing it the same way, I believe the key would have eventually broken off into the product. If you raise the steering wheel to get a tighter fit, always unlock the steering wheel and lower it to remove the product.
