My 3 year old son loves these puzzles. They are made of a sturdy wood but not too thick. The pieces are big enough for little hands. I like that they are magnetic so no pieces have been lost.

The animal pictures are really cute. Cute, child art and colors. Animals are drawn friendly yet still have realistic appearance and they use correct colors for the animals. Fun and attractive for children.The way the puzzles work is terrific! Each puzzle comes completely out of its frame to be taken apart. The frame maintains the same picture. Child can figure out where to put each piece by matching it with the picture.Puzzles are made of thick wood. Pieces are big and do not break. It does take some work to pull/bend pieces apart. They often make a "snap" when you put the pieces together. Once puzzle is completed it stays together when you lift it up and move it around in the air.Truly, well made. Great, smooth wooden material. Excellent, non-chip paint of happy childhood colors.

When opening these puzzles, I was disappointed that there wasn't a good reference to look at, like normal jigsaw puzzles have on the box BUT then when I took out the pieces, I saw that the image is printed on the puzzle itself, and you just lay the pieces over it. I guess it is good for introducing the concept of jigsaw puzzles, but the puzzle pieces really blend in when the puzzle is half completed since there is no contrast between the reference image and what's printed on the pieces.The wood is like a thin plywood-type of wood I guess. The pieces fit together very tightly.My toddler (nearly 3) doesn't quite get the concept yet but she does enjoy putting them together with me. Overall, the value is good for the price.

Love these puzzles. I got these for my grandsons at Easter and they loved looking at the pictures to figure out the pieces that goes in place. The puzzles are not thick but not to thin either. The base that the holds the peices are sturdy. I forgot to get photos of all the puzzles before they started. These are great and great for beginners. Perfect size for small hands.

This set of eight wooden puzzles is very cute. It comes packaged really nicely, and would make a great-looking gift. Each puzzle is shrink-wrapped, so when you open the outer package, none of the puzzles fall out of their boards.The quality of the wood seems pretty good, and the boards and puzzle pieces seem pretty sturdy. The one complaint I have is that the puzzle pieces fit together very tightly. You can see in my photos that I can pick up all the pieces when they are put together and they all stay together without moving at all. I find that for little kids (which it seems like these puzzles are aimed at), the tight fit can be frustrating, as it's harder to get the pieces together. And, it can be hard for them to un-do the pieces in the first place. With looser puzzles, they can simply dump it upside down and all the pieces will come out and they can move on to doing the puzzle. But with pieces this tight, they have to manually work the pieces apart, which can take a minute. And if they're not careful, the pieces could break (especially with long-term use).So I do think these are cute and are good quality. BUT, the fact that the pieces fit so tightly together are definitely a downside for me.

These puzzles are what you would expect. While they aren't extremely thick, they are definitely not flimsy. They will hold up to normal use and should last lots of days of enjoyment. These are definitely created for young children who are just learning how to use puzzles. Once they learn those basic motor and memory skills don't expect them to go back and play with these for many years. For young kids just learning these skills, though, this will be a fun and interactive toy! Consider mixing pieces up from a few different puzzles to challenge kids as they get a little older or more familiar with puzzles.The packaging is great on these puzzles and would be exciting for a kid to unwrap. Great colors too! Each puzzle is individually shrink wrapped, allowing you to gift one to eight different children or to have one lucky kid get 8 great puzzles to do.For the price, these are a good deal.

These are indeed wood. It’s the thinnest plywood I’ve ever seen but it IS wood and not just a “wood product” or cardboard. The pieces fit well, almost too well. They take a bit of care to separate and can be damaged when a child does it too “energetically”, so for longer life I’d recommend a parent or older sibling does the disassembly whenever possible.The puzzle picture is also printed on the backing board. The two are so similar it’s a bit hard to tell with a partially assembled puzzle which pieces are in vs. seeing the backing (see my pix). If they become too easy for your child, try painting over the background picture or cover it with contact paper.All the puzzles have the same shapes to the pieces so they can be assembled in a mixed fashion. That might lead to some interesting, creative combinations! Or, to increase the difficulty, mix the loose pieces from several puzzles and have your child sort them as they go.
