This item tested perfectly after installation. The bike began showing a battery charge code after only 12 miles. When retested there was a failed diode. I would not recommend this item.

This is a great replacement voltage regulator. 5 wires, just like you need. I drained my battery and charging system by using my winch more than I should of. I didn’t realize that I damaged the voltage regulator on my 2003 Polaris Ranger. The replacements only have 4 wires. This one has has the 5 wires that you need. Saved $ hundreds on repairs with this.

I knew I had an issue when I found my new to me 2004 Polaris Ranger 6x6 was putting out 19volts. That is most likely why the previous owner blew out the headlights and going through batteries. Also noted that the engine would not run in cold weather until the old rectifier was warmed up.Installed this new one and battery is being charged correctly plus engine stays running in cold weather. Pretty inexpensive fix.

Bought this product due to original part overheating bulged and quit working.Battery then unable to charge the battery. Plug and play for new part which lasted 20 minutes before it overheated and failed. I'm gonna say something else wrong with my atv. Also I had relocated the regulator in a new lo ation that probably contributed to part failure. It mounts to an aluminum bar by the radiator that probably helps with heat disapation.Ordered new stator and voltage regulator to try and remedy. Hopefully this will cure the overheating of the electrical system. This is far to common a problem for these atv's!Update. Stator and rectifier replaced and me and wife had a beautiful time with the repaired polaris until she rolled it 1.5 miles from loading up! Shattered shoulder.

Solved random shut downs with flashing red speedo needle and blinking battery icon. OEM part was cold temperature sensitive but would function properly after being warmed by the radiator or a heat gun.1. Drill out the center hole to accommodate using one of the existing mounting bolts/bracket. Main body facing forward and wires on top facing rear of machine.2. The brown and red wires are easily understood and match the existing harness. This is a 3 phase device so the remaining 3 yellow wires make no difference where they are attached to as long as they go to the existing harness wires that remain open after removing the old rectifier/regulator and attaching the red and brown wires.3. All bullet connectors required slight enlargement by use of an awl or ice pick to provide a positive snap lock fit to the existing harness. Recommend using shrink tube to cover connections for both moisture and physical connection security purposes.4. Stock regulator outputs 14.2 vdc and this replacement unit outputs 14.3 vdc and should not be an issue.
