Just normal foam brushes. The 5 stars is in comparison with other foam brushes not paint brushes in general. They are pretty standard and I didn't have a single problem with any of them. Depending on what I use them for I either cleaned them out and used them a couple of times or just tossed them if it was more trouble than it was worth to clean.

I attempted to use these foam pads to apply minwax lacquer. The foam began to breakdown after just a few strokes on the plywood leaving foam particles on the surface. While these pads may be suitable for other painting applications, I cannot recommend these for applying lacquer.

These foam brushes were as expected. They worked well for small paint projects, especially when you want to be able to just dispose of the brush after use. Thus far, I’ve mainly used them for painting trim—in my opinion they give a nicer looking coat than brushes since they don’t leave bristle marks. These brushes are about 2.25 tall, with the inside plastic support reaching until about 2 inches, so only the very tip is unsupported.

They're foam brushes. They're the same foam brushes you can get at a paint shop, big box store, or hardware store. The advantage of these is they are cheap - around 3 for a buck. They feel like the same quality as those I've bought at Home Depot for about a buck apiece.

I volunteer with high school kids, and we used these in our ceramics classes for wax resist, and they worked great! They don’t get as stiff and aren’t easily damaged from kids' cleaning habits.

My husband and I are big-time DIYers, and we seem to go through foam brushes like other people go through clean socks. I really like these. The handles are chunkier than most I have used and that makes them easier to hang onto, especially for my husband's large hands. They paint just fine, and we were able to get a decent edge line with them. It's hard to get excited about foam paintbrushes, but these do seem to be a good deal for the price.

Not too much to say about these, they're pretty similar to most other foam brushes. I did notice that the quality isn't great - most of the brush heads were on slightly crooked, but they'll do the job.

This kind of "brush" is great for applying varnishes, sealants, or other substances that you wouldn't want to get permanently stuck in brush bristles, for instance. These are as expected, just a beveled sponge affixed to a stick.
