I do like this product and I like the concept of it which is why I ordered it. The execution of the design does leave a little to be desired though. The ad says that this is an "airtight" paint palette. I can't say it is or is not airtight, but I can say it definitely is NOT WATERTIGHT. Immediately out of the packaging, I had my concerns about how securely the top attaches to the compartments. It is designed so that each compartment is covered by a rim that supposedly makes it airtight. I saw right away that those rims did not fit tightly and that there could be a problem of spillage or drying out of the stored paint. I went right to the sink, filled each compartment partially with water, then secured the top making sure each compartment was as tightly closed as the lid would allow. Then tilted and turned it around. I found one side to leak immediately upon tilting it to that side. No matter how much I fussed with the lid, it would not secure tightly. So for storing paints for perhaps a few hours to a day without moving the box around much, it most likely will work and you might still have usable paint. Any longer than that and I'd say all bets are off.
