Used these to eliminate a total of 4 band clamps in my exhaust. Had headers with a 2.5" collector and cat delete pipes in place. Clamp at the header to delete pipe, clamp at the delete pipe to mid pipe, on both sides, 3 out of 4 leaking. Extended piping on the mid pipe right up to the header, welded one flange on it, one flange on the collector. Perfect.

Clamps looked good out of the box. Unfortunately the threads stripped out immediately.

Not a bad V-band for the price. I've purchased 30-40 sets of these; and have had minimal issues.. They will warp if you don't tack them properly (at least 6 tacks spaced evenly around the circumference prior to "going in hot..") The male/female lip is great. This item gets three stars due to piss-poor quality of the clamp.. the threads are typical chicom garbage; but that's to be expected; a little anti-seize and they don't gall up.. the biggest issue is the "loops" holding the t-bolt in place.. the bolt will twist out of the loops, necessitating a pair of pliers or vise-grips to tweak them back inwards, and to allow you to tighten the clamp..The spot-welds on the clamp are also very poor.. they will break easily with any decent amount of torque. the solution to both of these problems for the end-user; is to tack the t-bolt to the "loops" in the clamped position, as well as a pair of tacks to assist the weak spot-welds holding the loops in place. 100+ amps of concentrated TIG heat for a second or so will fuse them nicely, and prevent breakage.

Want to buy a worthless V-band clamp and flange? Well, here you go. I bought 3 of these (and an extra clamp). These WILL NOT clamp tight. The clamp piece is bottoming out on the smaller diameter of the flange instead of putting pressure on the "V"s to push them tight. You can tighten them down as much as you dare to, and you can still rotate the tubes that they are welded to. On a good V-band, you can hand tighten the clamp and you really would have a hard time to rotate them. I'm guessing that they screwed up and sent me clamps for 2.75" tubing (though the flanges fit 2.5" tube as they are supposed to). Though the spare clamp that I ordered also didn't work either. Also, in the first box that I opened, one of the stamped "V" parts of the clamp was no longer spot welded to the clamp. Another one also fell off later just handling it.So, lesson learned. You get what you pay for. I just ordered some other ones for twice the price. Luckily they weren't fully welded or I'd have been really mad.

I've ordered some of these in the past from a mail order race parts supplier. The ones I bought from them were about twice the price of these. For half the money these are every bit as nice as those were. These have an added benefit of having a receiver groove in the mating faces that aligns them as you tighten the outer band. The other set had just a flat face on both rings. When I welded these to my exhaust pipes they welded very nicely. These are a great option to allow leak free connections in your exhaust system while still having the ability to disassemble the system. They are far better than the old fashion collector flanges and gaskets. These require no gaskets which is very nice in that if you disassemble the system you have no gaskets to replace.

I bought this item to make a custom quick-disconnect exhaust system for my car. The item came packaged very well and was exactly as described and pictured. The flanges are very heavy-duty and the clamp itself feels like it can go quite a few cycles of being put on and off before ever thinking about giving out. I don't have any exhaust leaks once the clamp is installed and torqued down; it seals very well. I would buy this item again should the need arise.

This is a good quality v band for cheap. The fit and finish is pretty good, there is a machined lip about 1/8" in the inside that is suppose to seat on the pipe, this was a little big (better than too small, less than 1mm diameter difference) for my application 2.5" 14 gauge aluminized steel so I jammed a TIG wire next to the pipe to hold it in place when welding and it worked great. Very well made part, seals wonderfully. The only thing that I can not yet contest to is its durability but it looks great and I don't expect it will rust, but the description did not mention what alloy stainless it is made of.

I was in need of a stainless exhaust for my winter car and need it to be easily removable because I'm often working on the car to keep it running reliable. V Band Clamps are the best choice, but especialy in stainless are normally expensive. I purchased two of these from Amazon at $25 each shipped, which is quite reasonable for V Band Clamps. I priced out 6 because I was considering getting more for another project and that came to about $20 each shipped. The machine work is excellent on these and they slipped tight over the 2.5" pipe I used for the rest of the exhaust. The slip groove has a stop a quarter inch down which makes it easy to set in place while tacking it in place. These don't have a lip to line up the two flanges before bolting on the clamp, but those run another $10-15 a clamp from my research.
