Tongue Jacks are used for lifting and lowering the tongue of a trailer when connecting it to or disconnecting it from the two vehicle. Tongue jacks are also used for leveling the trailer when camping. Side-wind models have an accessible gear housing making it easier to lubricate and repair.

Works great on camper tires when camping to help with rocking.

Only used once, but that was all that was needed to notice the difference walking around inside the camper. Worked great and super easy to install. I used my cordless ratchet instead of the tool that came with the X-chocks, which made it a breeze.

Made a real difference inside the trailer. Less movement. Put theses in place before dropping the trailer and never worry about it slipping off the tongue Jack.

ProsIt fits wide spaced axlesIt lock down movementConsThe hinge points are braddedTwo of the four feet have very stiff articulationInstalling on wide spaced axles - the lead screw is protruding so far out of the hinge nut that the chock has to be installed with the protruding lead screw up, not down this places the lead screw hex on the bottom and makes installing awkward.Storage for traveling - IF you collapse these with the provided ratchet, every time you remove them, plan on adding an extra 30 to your set up and tear down. All in all does a good job for the money there’s just a bunch of improvements that could make them a great solution to your rocking issues.

I used these chocks this weekend and was amazed at how they stabilized our trailer. Virtually no movement front to back. I would highly recommend them to anyone. The only drawback I found was that the two wheel pads on the ends of the narrower bars were too loose to pre-position thepads prior to installing the chocks. It almost required a third hand to hold the pads in place during installation. SIMPLE SOLUTION: A piece of vinyl tubing slightly longer than the space between the bars slipped around the bolts that hold the pads on to apply some pressure against the pads worked great. I would highly recommend the manufacturer consider adding something similar. That makes installation pretty much effortless.

Was looking for stabilizers for my RV's wide stance tires. I purchased these and immediately tried them out on a camping trip. They performed as advertised, but are heavy and bulky. I also have to put them on upside down due to my fender skirt not allowing me to get the tool in to extend them. However, once they were adjusted and I figured out how to use them it was easier to get them on. Just remember these are heavy and you don't want to be squatting down for a long time fiddling with them. get them almost to size prior to putting them between the wheels and you will be glad you did. Hope they will hold up for several years.

I bought this to help take some of the struggle out of setting up and to add some structural stability to our TT. I was super impressed with how sturdy they are but yet not super heavy. I used a 3/4 adapter on my drill and stretched them out then used the included wrench to tighten them down. I really liked that if your pad is level, the screw sits on the ground and holds the chock in place until you get it tightened down. Fast, simple and effective! As for the bounce, they help tremendously but don’t eliminate it totally. I am super pleased with the Bal product and the price! Definitely a must have!

Perfect for the larger space between tandem axles on our rv. Does take up a bit of space and adds weight but it's a necessity in my mind.

The things that I like about these are that it has eliminated virtually ALL movement when walking front-to-back in my RV, which is really great - even if I don't quite understand the mechanics of how that works exactly. And I like the fact that - even though they cover their butts by saying it's not supposed to be relied on for breaking - it undeniably adds another level of manual braking to the wheels, aside from just regular chocks. One qualm I have I have is that the center adjustment bar is SO long it actually digs into the ground, and the only reason this length is necessary is when you have them fully compressed flat like when they first arrive. So it seems like it's only for the sake of shipping them in a smaller box.Since it makes no sense to crank these days all day to get them flat each time I take them off, I might just take an angle grinder to em to trim that bar shorter.I'd attach a picture, but Amazon oddly seems to have removed the option to attach pictures to reviews (at least for me?).I will say that I also recently installed the BAL 23216 Lock-Arm Stabilizer bars to prevent side-to-side motion as well, and they were REALLY well (thought there's probably 5% of the motion still there with really intense gusts of wind - but it's barely noticeable and certainly not enough to wake me up like before). In fact, aside from being outside the return window, the only reason why I wouldn't return these chocks in lieu of another set of the stabilizer bars mounted in the front-to-back position (which would be $30 cheaper) is the extra braking power that's added to the wheels which the stabilizer bars wouldn't provide. And I don't want to give up that extra peace-of-mind.On the flip side, you never have to remove the stabilizer bars like you do the X-chocks (just loosen/tighten a bolt with the stabilizer jack's crank handle), so that's something to consider.Anyway, I hope that helps you in your buying decision as countless other people have helped me with their own reviews. If so, please pay it forward by reviewing your own purchases with information that you wish you would've had when you were contemplating the purchase.Cheers!
