Pulley and Balancer Kit Easily Converts from One LS Accessory Drive Depth to Another The LS family of engines has no doubt become the mainstay of engine swaps in just about anything with wheels. The allure of cheap horsepower in a compact and easy to install package certainly helps us understand why, but as popular as the LS swap is, there are some things to look out for when performing said swap. One such thing is GM’s decision to use different accessory drive depths across the various platforms the LS engine family has been installed in. While the LS has a lot of commonalities to it (some of which are even shared by its older small block Compatible with Chevy sibling), these differences in LS front accessory drive depth can become a headache for LS swap projects. There are three different LS front accessory drive depths for the various Gen 3 and Gen 4 small blocks found in the LS engine family. There is the short (Corvette), the mid (Camaro), and the long (truck) depth. Each version is used in a specific chassis application to allow the engine to clear the frame, suspension, cooling fan/radiator, and other components packed into the engine bay. If you’re not sure what accessory drive depth you are dealing with you can determine the original pulley depth via the application list below or see our how to measure your factory crankshaft pulley depth in our installation details section. Our new CNC machined aluminum pulleys work in conjunction with the included SFI rated LS engine balancer to allow simple conversion from one depth to another as needed for your engine swaps
