I got this along with an interlock kit for my electrician to install for my new 5K inverter backup generator to keep the refrigerator, freezer, and a few essentials running during an extended blackout. Build quality seems fine and will suit the purpose nicely.

This is an easy way to hook up your generator to your transfer switch. Much more convenient and safer than just running a lead cord to a couple lamps during a power outage. I hooked this to my transfer switch and mounted this box to the outside of my house. I made up a cord with an L14-30 male plug on one end, and an L14-30 female plug on the other to connect my L14 30 amp generator 220V outlet to this power inlet box. I understand that sounds complicated, but it isn't if you take your time and understand the different plug options. If you look at your generator's 220 volt outlet, it will say right on it what number it is. (in my case, it's an L14-30A) You can make a lead cord of the correct gauge with the correct plugs if you corelate the numbers on the generators outlet on one end to the L14-30 on the other end for this inlet box. You should consult with an electrician if you don't feel comfortable with this.This worked perfectly for me with the needs that I have. easy to install and the build quality is very good and weather tight. Great value for the money!

Kept my trailer's electrical system dry during a sudden storm. The waterproof gasket seals tighter than other brands I've tried. Bonus points for including corrosion-resistant hardware.
