Will not buy another BPL garden light transformer

I had been using a 200W system for a few years but it was close to the edge. As some of the internal resistance increased, the transformer couldn't keep up without setting off the internal breaker. After checking the system several times, I stepped up to a 300W system and everything works fine, even at the 12V setting (I can bump up the voltage to compensate for the long runs, but haven't needed too). I have a unit in the front of the house that has run for years - set it and forget it.

I found this unit that was priced better than others that didn't have all the features that this one had. Install to power 13 landscape lights was very easy. All the lights were 12 volt but I used the 13 volt set up and it all works perfectly. A very good buy.

This unit feels substantial, installed easily, and has worked flawlessly for the past 2 months that it has been installed. Highly recommended. Like the feature that allows you to connect to slightly higher voltage supply if you have really long runs of cable, as I do.

This is a heavier duty, well made unit than expected. It is mounted on exterior wall under roof wave. Should last forever!

This Transformer replaced an Alliance it300 transformer which wanted to but never liked. the Alliance needed a cell phone to turn on and program. Which became a problem with phone capability. and it would turn on in the middle of the day. The Alliance was over complicated, more expensive, noisy and gets hot. By comparison, this transformer was very easy to install and operate. There are reviews about trouble fitting multiple wires in the taps. The Alliance did have a Common for each tap but the alliance had only 14v taps. This one has 12 13 14 and 15 which is handy but they all share a single common attach point. My setup only needed two taps. i used the 12v and 13v and the heavy gauge stranded aluminum wire had no problem doubling up in the common tap. I think you could maybe do 3, maybe, but I had no issue with two at all. it was simple to set up, had a photo cell which the Alliance did not. it's absolutely quiet and does not get as hot. i am very pleased with this purchase and price.
