I love this jacket. It’s warm but so lightweight. I love the slim look so I don’t look like I weigh a million pounds. I also love the detachable hood. I bought it for an after workout winter coat when it’s snowing and freezing, because I didn’t want to wash my NF or Patag—nia jackets that much. But I ended up buying a 2nd one of these and they’ve become my go-to jacket this winter. The zipper could be better quality, that’s my one slight complaint. Such a great value for a long, packable down jacket compared to my more expensive “fancy” brand jackets.

It is the right color and the right size. It would be perfect if it is warm enough for subzero temperature.

I was looking for a lightweight jacket that was longer in length than a typical waist jacket so I ordered this. I had already bought a similar 32 Degrees jacket in a local department store and ordered this one to see what the difference was. The difference was that this one fit better and was less expensive! As the description says, it is lightweight. I live in the Northeast, so this is not a typical winter jacket for me. However, if it's cold and I just need to run into a store or I'm going to spend time at a mall, it's great. With heavier jackets, once you get inside, you start sweating, but this lightweight down is something that you can wear inside for a while without overheating. I love the slimming style. It's not super tight, but it is more flattering than some more bulky styles. Since it's a packable down jacket, it comes with a bag that you can stuff your coat into. I've done this a couple of times, and the bag with the jacket fits in my pocketbook (backpack style). The pockets have zippers, which is great if you just want to go somewhere with just your keys and a phone or credit card. It was a great purchase!

I originally ordered the Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisperer II in “Jack Pine” bc I’ve been hiking more and I wanted a hooded warm packable coat, and I love the green Jack Pine color. Not only for hiking, I also wanted it for travel. Well, long story short, the GWII sucks. The quality is terrible and didn’t even last one hike. And the GWII is $360!!!So I returned that one and went on another search. My criteria: down-filled for warmth, has to be green, hood (bc I don’t like hats), pockets, has to pack down really small. This coat delivered on all that PLUS it’s water resistant (the GWII is NOT!!) and it covers my butt! I also think I like this dark spruce green better than Jack Pine bc it’s less obnoxious but still green. I could wear it for a lot of different scenarios—not only hiking. The only drawback is that it doesn’t come with a packing bag, nor do either of the pockets have a double zipper for packing. I will say, you CAN stuff the whole coat inside one pocket! You just can’t zip it up. Oh well, not a deal breaker. One more thing: I’m pear-shaped and normally wear S/M but I had to buy a large in the GWII to get it to cover the tops of my hips. With this coat, I only needed a medium and it covers my whole butt, so….it makes me feel better all around! 🤣

Initial Impression:I just received this jacket and having never owned a “light -weight down” only your 1st gen, more bulky ones, I wasn’t sure this would hold up to the cold temps because it feels so thin. Today was wasn’t freezing yet, but 37° , I only wore a t-shirt under my jacket and I was all but sweating upon returning from walking my dog. It was also raining & I was worried it might ruin the down, but I saw another reviewer mention the water beading up and rolling off, so I risked it, and it sure did! Now, I need to do some more research on this specific jacket as to HOW water resistant it is before I’d wear it outside all day in the rain, like at a sporting event- This was just a 5min dog walk.Fit:Next is sizing, I’m a L-XL in tops due to bust, but reading other reviewers measurements who purchased L’s , I knew I’d need either an XL or XXL. I went with the XXL and prob could have gotten away with the XL, as it’s very roomy. I will keep it though because I have a few thick-heavy winter sweaters that I couldn’t wear much last year due to my previous coat being so fitted.LOVES:I love that there are snaps AND the zipper.. if I don’t want to mess with zipping it all the way just to run the doggo out real quick, I can snap a few snaps while I’m on the elevator & that will suffice! Also the hood detaches, which I like having the option incase I want a more streamline look in the back while wearing a toboggan.OVERALLI’d say this is a good purchase for the money. I will update as it gets colder.
