Anytime working on a vehicle or modern piece of equipment has probably faced the challenge of unplugging locked connectors while wearing gloves to protect your hands. This set of pliers allows you to reach in and work the lock on the connectors while pulling them apart, with the added benefit that they're long and thinner to reach tight locations. One of them did have a couple of surface rust spots (as pictured ) but they're sturdy and handy for their very specific use.

I've always just used my hands and fingers when disconnecting electrical terminals and plugs. Then one day I came across a video of a mechanic showing how these electrical disconnect pliers work. I immediately got a set for myself. I must say, these tools makes the job so much easier. Faster, less busted knuckles, less cursing. I'd call this a "nice to have" tool. However, even though one could still get the job done without these tools, what you gain by using them is definitely worth the relatively low cost, in my opinion. I wish I got these years ago.

OK, these things take some time to get used to working with them, but once you figure it out, they work great. You need to squeeze just enough to release the tab, not super tight, and then pull the connector back away from the other half. The one tool is a "slide in and pull" release tool. That is more straightforward to use.

These tools come in very handy when removing those electrical connectors in the engine bay, especially in hard to reach places. It's always a chore to reach in and try to get enough pressure to push in the connector clip with your fingers and pull the connector loose. These are designed to make it very simple to do so.They are strong and well made and the rubber covered handles provide good grip. I do find it strange however, that the angled plier has a spring loaded grip, but the straight one does not. The spring action makes it easier to get the jaws around the clip for removal and I don't know why it wasn't included on only one plier. The teeth of the jaws hold on well to the connector, but it would also have been helpful to have some sort of locking mechanism when closing the jaws to facilitate removal of the connector, so you don't have to keep squeezing the handles. All in all though, they function well and are a useful tool to have around.
