My first guitar arrived with a broken neck, but I saw the overall build was good so I got another and I'm quite happy. The action is sweet, and the nut and bridge are fine unless you need super high quality. The color is gorgeous and it just feels good. I am replacing the tuning pegs however, the plastic knows cheapen an otherwise great little guitar, still 5 stars.

At this price, this guitar is pretty hard to argue with. Possibly so at a higher price, even.Guitars in general are not that expensive to manufacture, the costs usually go into time spent on details, setup, fretwork, etc. as well as quality control. There's a good chance you're going to have to do a little maintenance on ANY guitar when you get it, unless you buy from a local shop that has done it for you. This guitar was no exception, I had to adjust the truss rod a little (tool included). I've been noticing a lot better fretwork on "budget" guitars the last few years - maybe "more functional" is a better term, because it's not always pretty and clearly done by machine, at least mostly. I've had guitars that cost 2-3+ times the price of this one that arrived with fret ends I was afraid were going to cut me open. The frets on this are ground at a relatively flat angle on the ends, which is a little bit different approach to this, but the result is a fretboard that doesn't snag your fingers! This may (and probably does) vary from one guitar to the next, but mine is really good.I love the finish. The guitar actually arrived better looking than the one pictured in the description. The picture shows more of a washed out denim kind of appearance, but what I received was a much deeper color. The matte finish is great, it won't pick up smears and fingerprints nearly as bad as glossy. If you really want to protect the finish, I'd recommend picking up a stick-on pickguard. After just a few minutes of play, I started to notice I was making pick scratches.I was a little skeptical of the unique plastic tuner knobs, but they do the job, and the tuners seem to work well enough - I've had some cheap guitar tuners that just feel awful, but on first tune-up, these don't seem bad at all. This isn't a bad guitar for the price, even without the extras included, but they really take it up a notch, especially for beginners. The clip on tuner comes without a battery, which is a little aggravating. It takes a CR2032, pretty common for this type of tuner and small remote controls. I didn't feel like hunting one down, so I didn't try out the tuner. You get all the basics though: Tuner, capo, extra strings, strap, pick, truss rod wrench, and even a folding stand. And don't forget the included gig bag, which is nothing fancy, but adequate.Based on some of the other reviews, it sounds like they don't all arrive as trouble free as mine, but I can't give what I received less than 5 stars. As I said, it did need a little neck relief adjustment, but I expect every guitar I buy to need at least a little work when received. Even if things like this are adjusted perfectly at the factory, they change over time and with climate change. If you are a new guitarist, you need to know how to do this. Unlike some other entry level instruments I've picked up, there was no little "getting started" booklet included that explains truss rod adjustment (or if there was something, I've lost it) but I do see it mentioned in the item description. There are a thousand different places on the internet to learn how this works. In my case, the rod was too tight. There was no neck relief and strings would rattle against the frets when I fingered chords. Loosening the rod a little corrected this and it plays pretty well now. There are cheaper guitars/kits out there I'm sure, but this is a great balance of price and performance. If what you receive is as good as mine, you will not be disappointed with this guitar.

The world of budget instruments has come a long way in recent years, with some pretty solid stuff available on the lower end of the price spectrum. None of it is going to replace higher end instruments, no, but for first-timers and those on a budget, it really broadens your options. This guitar is another among the absolute slew of sub-$200 acoustic guitars now hitting the market.First, please note that I have reviewing this in the context of its price. A 4- or 5-star guitar at this price range is NOT THE SAME as a 4- or 5-star guitar at, say, the 800-1000 price range. I'm taking budget into account and judging it in that context. So how it this one? Not bad. You can kind of FEEL that it's a cheaper guitar. There is a vaguely toy-like quality to it that I can't place my finger on. But with that said, it played pretty well right out of the box, the intonation was surprisingly on point (despite getting banged up in shipping), and its at-a-glance looks are really nice.Frets feel good with no sharp edges and no buzzing strings. The tuning keys actually surprised me, because they were responsive and fairly precise, something I rarely encounter at this price range. Usually the tuning keys are junk. These were not.The neck was quite comfortable. The action wasn't as stiff as some budget acoustics I've played, too. This felt good to play.Aesthetically, at a glance this thing is kind of beautiful. The finish is nice, the color is lovely, and even the fretboard looks nicer than it really is. It's only when you examine it up close that you can see how much of it is faux fancy and superficial, and sometimes just plain cheap. That's expected at this price range, granted. When sitting in its guitar stand, though, it looks quite nice. I like how it looks.Speaking of the guitar stand, the extras are good. These beginner packages are all starting to look the same, but that's not a bad thing. You get a lightly padded gig bag, along with a strap, capo, electronic tuner, extra strings, pics, and a cleaning cloth. Basically everything you need. Where this one goes above and beyond is in including a guitar stand. What a great extra! It's a decent enough stand, too.All in all, a great, full package that is ideal for someone getting their first guitar. Longtime players should probably spend a little more on something else, but otherwise, this is a solid package and a decent guitar for the price. No major complaints.PS - A note on shipping. Mine was shipped with its guitar box inside a much larger box. The guitar box was not taped shut, so it opened up inside the larger box and the contents went everywhere, including the guitar. When the UPS driver threw it onto the porch, the guitar was banging around inside. Somehow it made it through the experience just fine (I'm sure being inside the gig bag helped), but it could easily have broken. To whom it may concern: Tape those boxes shut to avoid this!

This is a good guitar to learn with. It is attractive for the cost. Mine stays in tune well and I haven’t ready seen any major quirks or weakness in the overall structure of the product. I would highly recommend for youngsters and adults who are at the early stages of learning to play.
